3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
375ml bottle from the LCBO.
Pours a nearly black brown with a three finger, mocha/tan head that thins itself out moderately quickly.
Aroma is faint with notes of roasted malt, burnt coffee, and very slight, bitter chocolate.
Taste is bitter with a dry, roasted malt, slightly coffee aftertaste.
Medium body and carbonation. Fairly clean in the mouth with a slightly creamy texture. Certainly drinkable.
Overall good but not my thing. I thought I’d give this a try but I enjoy more of the chocolaty/sweet stouts and this just isn’t doing it for me. A bit too bitter without enough other flavours to mix it up. Probably wouldn’t buy again but a good brew if you enjoy the style.

C’est simple mais très bien fait.

On tap no bar Le Fine Mousse em Paris. ?5,5
Não eh meu estilo preferido. Preto profundo e espuma densa e duradoura. Sabor suave de café.

Black in color, but of a coffee start and dry finish, not my first choice but a pretty good Irish dry stout

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Near black in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas are of cocoa and espresso powder, vanilla, and pale malt. Well balanced on the palate between the dry/roasty (coffee and chalk) and the sweeter (vanilla and milk chocolate) elements. Even a little minty hop note shows up too. Complex and highly drinkable.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark body brown head nice lacing. Roasty nose. Taste of dark roasty malts, but not so complex. Quality dry stout but not something I’d go out of my way to have.

Really enjoyed this one! First smell remainds me a bit of an old bar. Not that pleasent. But as you make your way down to the bottom of the glass, this stout becomes increasingly omforting. It’s rounded warmth is a treat for the senses. At this low volume, an abslute favorite!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
090116. A beer with a name that is difficult to pronounce but that is the only downside to this beer, not that this is even really a downside. I purchased this bottle from Cool Wine in Hobart a while ago and thought it was about time that I drank it.
The awesome looking label on the bottle certainly catches your eye and the label is both colourful and intriguing. While the outer packaging is very good it is the beer inside the bottle that really makes you sit up and take notice.
Black as coal with a smooth even thin layer of tan foam and aromas of dark chocolate. Cocoa, vanilla and toffee fill the nose. This is a beer that is visually pleasing and from the first mouthful to the last you get nothing but great flavour.
Much like the aroma the flavour is all vanilla, toffee and dark chocolate. While the beer is thin in the mouth it is as smooth as velvet and fills the mouth with flavour and leaves a slightly bitter aftertaste.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20

Had it couple months ago. I remember it had a medium beige head. I remember it tasted well but I wasn’t marked by it as I was with other beers from that brewer. Still a very good brew.
