Brewed in collaboration with Yvan De Baets of Brasserie de la Senne. This hazy blonde beer is brewed with rye and Nelson Sauvin hops. The aroma is quite floral and the flavor arrives in three stages: the first is reminiscent of rye bread, followed by an evolving fruity and herbal note, and ending with a long-lasting finish that encourages you to dive right back in. The name comes in part from a Belgian insult, “schieven architek”, used by the people of the Marolles district of Brussels to criticize architect Joseph Poellart who built the enormous Palais de Justice which they felt ruined the neighborhood. The second part comes from a common Quebecois swear word

The Trou du Diable Version is in 500ml bottles only (and on tap)!

Bottle (600 ml), shared. Clear bright pale green-ish yellow with a frothy white head, good retention, leaving little lacing. Aroma is floral and perfumy with citrusy hops, fresh cereals, mild spiciness (coriander mostly) and grass. Taste is quite herbal/grassy and floral with peppery rye, coriander notes and moderate bitterness. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Fluffy mouthfeel. Peppery and herbal finish with a fun citrus kick at the end. A tiny bit too perfumy (from the rye) for my liking but otherwise a really well-executed Belgian Ale with good drinkability and nice texture.

Très bien executé. Bière en collaboration avec la brasserie de la Senne. Robe blonde, opalescente, Nez de pain de seigle. Très douce en bouche et assez goûteuse, c’est un bon produit dans l’ensemble.
