On tap at the Alehouse in U.P. When actually brewed in Leavenworth, this was one of my least favorites of the lineup, but the Fish crew has steadily improved this brew, and it’s now among my favorites. Muddy chocolate color, roasty malts and the banana/clove wheat notes combine to make this a wonderful session beer. However, keep your gear clean for this one, publicans --it doesn’t tolerate mishandling well.

Nov 27, 2008 03.11.2008. On tap at Fish Tale Brew Pub, Olumpia, Wa. The colour is coudy/hazy dark yellow to brown. Aroma is wheaty with some citrus.

Oct 13, 2008 G.A.B.F. 2008: Hazy maroon with a creamy tan head. The aroma has some softly toasted malts and peppery esters. Creamy feel on the palate. Nice soft toasted notes in the flavor- almond and cinnamon, with surprisingly little yeast to speak of. Interesting and tasty. Doesn’t seem like a Dunkelweizen but it’s tasty.

Oct 3, 2008 Draught @ the brewpub. Pours a dark hazy brown color with a small off-white head. Has a wheaty malty caramel aroma with hints of banana and clove. Swetish wheat malty caramel flavor with some hints of chocolate. Has a malty caramel finish with some hints of banana.

Aug 22, 2008 Hazy brownish with characteristic German weizen yeast aroma with wheat, clove and banana as well as some chocolate in aroma and flavor. Moderately lively body. A good version of the style.

Apr 1, 2008 On tap, poured a perfet hazy dunkel weizen just begging to hit my lips. However, was a little too simple and mild for my tastes. Not really offering a strong showing of banana chocolate coffee or brown sugar that I find so appealing in others of the style. Also, the palate seemed a bit thin. Overall, not impressed, though enjoyable.
