COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Blind Pig Dunkel Weizen

This is a medium-bodied, unfiltered dark wheat beer with a smooth, gently sweet character. The flavor has notes of chocolate and caramel combined with the cereal malt flavor contributed by malted wheat. Blind Pig is a very unique beer with few other examples of the German Dunkel Weizen style brewed in the Northwest, and certainly none as tasty.

Mild aroma of bark berries. Slightly thin mouthfeel. Flavor was ok but not rich or dark like I expect in a good dunkel. Eh there are much better ones out there.

Drank from a twelve ounce can purchased from Wegmans. Has a slightly malt aroma the rest smells watered down.

I thought this was a porter. But it's not according to the can. It's a dark wheat ale. It reminds me of kona brewing co. Pipeline porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Lots of chocolate malt. Some weizen qualities. Served with a fine thick creamy head & a little lace. Doesn’t resemble a traditional Dunkelweizen too much.

Bottle to shaker glass. Pours deep reddish black, fast vanishing head, no lace, no retention. Aroma of dark chocolate. Taste is mainly sweet with a nice bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, silky mouth feel. Finishes malty sweet. Tasting notes of banana, chocolate, smoked wheat malt, caramel, dates and coffee. This is my first dunkel, mainly because I don’t care for wheat beers but this is a surprise! I actually like this beer!

Deep brown pour with amber hues, decent tan head. Nose is dark kilned malt, Bittersweet. Middle has hints of coco and pencil shavings backed by solid smooth malt. Finish is dry and slightly nutty.

12oz bottle 3/19/15 (Courtesy of TerryR)-38° in Weizen-Pours like a coke with a small tan head. Aroma of wheat and banana. Taste of wheat, malt, banana, and chocolate. This light bodied brew is well balanced and quite tasty.

Very drinkable and pretty well rounded. Some hints of nut with light roast. Pours black with OK head and lacing. Light bitter finish. Bottle.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy brown body with a one finger frothy beige head that left some nice lacing. The nose is a nice mix of earthy dark wheat and yeast with some light roast and coffee. The flavor is pretty solid as well, a heavy dark wheat with the right amount of yeastiness that fades to a coffee laced and lightly roasty finish. There’s not a ton of yeast in here, but it definitely comes through nicely. Medium bodied with a softness lent by the yeast and a gentle fizzy carbonation level. Pretty nice Dunkleweizen, better than their Hefe.
