COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Blind Pig Dunkel Weizen

This is a medium-bodied, unfiltered dark wheat beer with a smooth, gently sweet character. The flavor has notes of chocolate and caramel combined with the cereal malt flavor contributed by malted wheat. Blind Pig is a very unique beer with few other examples of the German Dunkel Weizen style brewed in the Northwest, and certainly none as tasty.

Bottle. Pours hazy toffee-brown, with a medium pale tan head, nice lacing. Nose is pudding, chocolate, bananas, caramel, fruit, berries, and a nice bright hoppiness. Flavor is medium-sweet, with notes of cocoa, banana, red fruits, toffee, nuts, nice mild wheat character, and a mild phenolic spiciness. Well rounded and tasty. Win.

Pours dark brown with a thick head. aroma is a bit dull, but has some nice fruity notes. Flavour is nice lots of wheat and spice, hoppy and very smooth. It is a little light in body but all in all this is a good brew. Its no Aventinus But its good.

12 oz single from Roths Vista Market, Salem Very nice looking beer, cola brown , hazy, nice frothy tan head. very handsome. Aroma not as subdued as their hefe. I get some phenols, doughyness, some caramel, slightly cheesy( in a good way). Taste again is mainlly malty, but geting more spices and yeast on this one. Some caramel too. Good thick palate on this one, coats the mouth. Overall a bit better than the hefe but still not great. Still OK and at 4% a good summer quaffer.

12 oz bottle purchased at Esquin Wine Merchant in Seattle, Washington. Pour is a cloudy hazy orange brown with a one inch off white head that settles quickly. Aroma of toasted, roasted malt along with some faint grainy wheat and grassy yeast notes. Mostly the straight forward, clean, malt. Taste is the light roastiness of the nose, with much more of a wheat character, along with some fruit (apple) sweetness and ripe fruit and grass yeast. As the beer warmed, the flavors really came together. Palate is thin to medium bodied, lower level of carbonation and a bit of a watery finish. It is clean, and very easy to drink. Nice one.

12 oz bottle from Bier Stein. Poured a very dark brown with a small tan head that faded quickly and left zero lacing. Aroma is basically roasted malt alone, maybe a slight hint of chocolate. Flavor is roasted malt, light barley and some earthy hop. Beer got a little better as it warmed, despite the low abv. Not terrible, but not great either. However, excellent value for 95 cents for a bottle of it.
