Boulder Bend pours a hazy brown color with a light tan head. Big spicy black pepper, chocolate aromas. Very smooth medium body. Medium to dark caramel and roasty wheat malt flavors with mild milk chocolate notes. Nice brew.

Thin cereal malt body - slight grainy sweet toasted character. Some caramel notes and a light tart yeast finish.

Bottle. Poured dark brown with medium white head. Little lacing. Cereal aroma with a smoky note. Cereal and caramel flavour, wheat, barley malt, and medium smoky toast finish.

Now branded as Boulder Bend. Very dark, hard to see through, hazy and gritty. Burnt grain and some smoke, little flat with the yeast character but it doesn’t take away either. Chocolate notes, grainy body, like a nice toasted cereal. Light bodied, nice dark roast, very good all around.

On tap at the Tap House Grill in Seattle. Color was amber-auburn. Aroma was bready and very wheaty; hint of earth/citrus. Flavor was surprisingly dominated by a toasted malt like presence. Wheaty and pretty dry overall. A bit too dry for the style for me.

Hazy brown color with lacy head. Silky mouthfeel and astringent bready flavor. Taste would be helped tremendously if a good yeast was more prominent.

03.11.2008. On tap at Fish Tale Brew Pub, Olumpia, Wa. The colour is coudy/hazy dark yellow to brown. Aroma is wheaty with some citrus.

G.A.B.F. 2008: Hazy maroon with a creamy tan head. The aroma has some softly toasted malts and peppery esters. Creamy feel on the palate. Nice soft toasted notes in the flavor- almond and cinnamon, with surprisingly little yeast to speak of. Interesting and tasty. Doesn’t seem like a Dunkelweizen but it’s tasty.

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours a dark hazy brown color with a small off-white head. Has a wheaty malty caramel aroma with hints of banana and clove. Swetish wheat malty caramel flavor with some hints of chocolate. Has a malty caramel finish with some hints of banana.
