Formerly known as Blind Pig Dunkel Weizen

This is a medium-bodied, unfiltered dark wheat beer with a smooth, gently sweet character. The flavor has notes of chocolate and caramel combined with the cereal malt flavor contributed by malted wheat. Blind Pig is a very unique beer with few other examples of the German Dunkel Weizen style brewed in the Northwest, and certainly none as tasty.

It was terrible. Just not my kind of beer. I hated every aspect of this beer. Very thick and foamy.

Dark brown caramel, nearly black, with off white head and lacing. Light aroma of...cinnamon donuts? Palate is light-bodied with mild nut and caramel flavors. Palate is a little watery.

Bottle. Pours a clear and very dark brown color with a moderate off-white head. Nose is quite malty with some caramel and toasty elements to it. Taste is light and smooth and slightly sweet and toasty, but not all that special. OK.

Bottle. Poured a very cloudy deep brown color with a thin tan head, minimal lacing. Taste of caramel, dough and cereal. Great carbonation, watery mouthfeel. Nice dunkel!

Caramel malt aroma. Fairly dark brown, more than I would expect. Flavors are very roasted, more so than I would want for this style. Not like a traditional dunkelweizen, and the estery clove, banana flavors are not noticeable at all. I would call this more an american dark wheat ale. Not bad nonetheless and has good malt presence.

Poured a cloudy brownish amber with an offwhite head and some floaties in it. Aroma is caramel, nuts, cereal, toast, and very faint coffee. Taste is caramel, sour, coffee, with a sweet and sour finish.

Not do bad. Quite weizen alike but not much flavour, just sweet aroma and some clove hints.

Deep brown coloring with a frothy head. Aroma is mild; includes malt, wheat, caramel, a little yeast. Thin, light bodied palate. Flavor is slightly grassy, mildly malty, and a little sour. Finishes with a slight but lingering bitterness. Overall not a great representative of the style.

12 ounce bottle. Pours brown with a nice off-white head. Aroma of malt, yeast, caramel, and a bit of hops. Taste is wheat, citrus, yeast, caramel, and chocolate. Pretty tasty.

The nose is a nice marbled rye, a real bready malt. The flavor is somewhat similar yet is somewhat inhibited. It is a clear dark brown color, light carbonation with a weak head. A sweet character with light hops. Definite chocolatey wheat after taste. 8.75 BD
