12 oz. bottle served in an English pint. Dark amber in color. Short off-white head. Malty, caramel aroma. Some bread. Flavor is malty. Medium body. Little carbonation. I’d take this over AK Amber, but this doesn’t come close to Uerige.

I really like this brew. Pours a hazed amber with a finger of yellow head and sparkly carbonation. A hint of hop in the nose with light sweetness and lemony fruit notes. Delicious German estery notes and yeast flavors. A hint of wheaty malts and fruits with a delicious noble hop profile. Overall, great brew with fantastic balance.

My first altbier. Copper colored beer, with a thin, off-white head. Slight aromas of floral hops, and caramel. Tastes of light floral hops, sweet toffee, some caramel, and very light chocolate malts balanced nicely by some hop bitterness. Bittersweet, chewy finish. Interesting beer.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 jsmerig (544) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 23, 2012
Pours a deep amber with an off-white head. Aroma of tea and lightly roasted nuts. Taste is nutty and malty very rich without being to sweet. Just enough hops to balance out the malt.

Tampa, FL - Total Wines - 12 oz bottle. Medium copper pour, medium-thick off-white head with a light trail of lacing. Aroma is muddled - first impression is of fresh water fish - mellows just a bit to turn slightly minty - odd. Flavor has it moments with some nutty accents, a hint. Overall, solid.

The aroma has delicate hops with both grassy and herbal notes. There is also caramel malt and a hint of toast and yeast. The appearance is light amber with a medium head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is average. Overall a pretty good beer.

12 oz. bottle from Table and Vine, West Springfield, MA. Lightly hazy Brown in color. Label has best before July, notched. Nice brown with amber hues. Almost no head but the little that was there left spotty lace. Bread, floral hops and honey. Flavors of earthiness, toasted malt, light caramel and a mild hop bite that pleases me. Nice representation of the style. Worth a try.

12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. Dark copper color with a very small head. The ale had little bubbles. A Malty, yeasty aroma. Taste is bitter with a bit of an odd aftertaste. Smooth on the palate. Overall not a favorite beer of mine and I would probably not drink it again.

Bottle. Poured amber with a quick off-white head. Aroma of toasted malt with a grainy background. The flavor was flipped with grain and light toasted malt. Light body.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Nena (963) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 18, 2011
Murky coppery brown, short white head. Smells of toasted wheat bread, grassy, earthy, a little spicy. More of that toasty bread flavor, a little doughy, not overly sweet but with some caramel quality. Slightly bitter on the finish, a little earthy. Seems like a good food beer.

Deep amber-copper color, steady small off-white head, lace. Light sweetish caramelly aroma. Light-bodied. Malty, slightly bready ... buttery-diacetylic notes. Low bitterness and some caramel.
