COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a full-bodied, very pale and extremely hoppy version of the IPA style for which Pacific Northwest brewers are deservedly famous. The flavor is INTENSE with a dry roasted malt character overlaid by a very assertive hop bitterness and citrus aroma. Like all our Leavenworth beers, Hodgson's India Pale Ale is proudly unfiltered.

Growler from Fish Tale Brewpub. This one has a great citrus floral hop aroma with a soft underlying malt base. Pours golden orange with a nice head and good lace. The flavor is very citrusy and dry with some light sweetness for a touch of balance. Lots of C hop goodness in this one. Good lingering bitterness and a dry finish. Fantastic for 5.5%.

On cask at Bailey’s. Pours a soft cloudy orange with a big bubbled soapy off-white head. Citrus hops in the nose, crisp and floral with a soft spiciness to it. Very airy palate from the hand pump, very soft on the malts, leaving it heavy on the bitterness in the finish.

Cask @ Baily’s.. Poured a hazey orange color with a fantastic head with lacing. Aroma was packed with sweet floral and citrus hops. Great smooth palate. Great hop punch at the beginning that fades into a tart hop presence. dry finish. Great beer on cask.

On draft at Fishbowl (Fish Brewpub) in Olympia, WA. Arrived in glass a slightly hazy amber color, with a small white head that leaves generous lace. Aroma is toasty, floral and citrus with evergreen hop notes. Flavor profile matches aroma with nice toasty malts and crisp NW hops, citrus, floral and modest pine. Medium body and good crisp carbonation. Enjoyable indeed.

On tap at Brooklyn Restaurant, Seattle. Pours a hazy light copper color with a full off-white head. It has an aroma of pine and hops, which I found to be appealing. Complex flavor, with a presence of citrus, but the hops is up front and prominent. Good mouthfeel with a dry finish. If you like hoppy beers like I do, you’ll probably love this one. Pair with a spinach salad topped with feta cheese, dried cranberries and balsamic vinegarette dressing. Add to that a pan-fried trout (in butter, of course), along with roasted potatoes.
