2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bomber. Pours mahogany with 2-finger khaki head and copious lacing. Looks great. Nose is roasty and syrupy caramel malt, corn flakes, mild hops, brown sugar, cacao, some off butyric and vegetal wafts. Tastes malty, with notes of toffee, brown sugar, some funky notes, and an overall smooth liquid caramel flavor profile, although not sweet, and with backup hops. Comes unglued a bit as it warms, with some odd flavors going on, and was below average for me overall.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This brew pours a reddish-brown color with a medium thick light beige head that diminishes slowly. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, caramel and dark fruit. Medium-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, ripe fruit and mild hops. The finish is sweet with a lingering malty aftertaste. Decent Doppelbock overall.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
(appropriately priced bottle that I believe is over a year old) Pours out a muddy reddish brown color with a very scant tan head. Aroma holds a lot of sweet scents, with smells of graham cracker, dark cherries, caramel, sweet bread, and a little bit of musty lager yeast that attempts to rise above the decadent aroma. Really well put together here, and is reminiscent of New Glarus Uff-Da. The flavor does not contain even near enough complexity and richness as the aroma, but it’s still inoffensive.with some flavors of chocolate, caramel, pumpernickel bread, and just a shade of cherry flashing by in the fore. Mouthfeel is medium and the carb is low. The finish carries on with flavors of toasty malt and some minerally yeast which comes off as a bit metallic. At the price point, this beer is worth purchasing for the scent alone, and the rest of the beer is solid except for the metallic finish.

Bomber pour into a stein. Old German style. Impressed by the aromas - couldn’t get a read on the appearance really. Good alcohol balance.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
22 ounce bottle. Pours an opaque, dark amber color, with very little head. Aroma is slightly sweet. Taste is sweet and malty. This beer is smooth, tasty and drinkable. However, it really isn’t anything outstanding or special. I would still give it a thumbs up rating, and I am partial to the doppelbock style.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Appearance is a dark ruby brown, having a thin dissipating head, no lace. Aroma is very malty, dark fruits. Taste of sweet malt, bready with a tinge of yeast and hops following. Palate is medium with just enough carbonation to make it go down easily. Overall an enjoyable strong lager.
