3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Still looking for a true standout this year, but this one wasn;t bad. Nice mix of caramel malt and toast in the aroma, and with the added complexity of slightly grassy hops in the finish. A little richer and this would be quite good."

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draught at Collective on Tap, Woodinville, WA
Dark amber to brown color, hazy, with compact head. The aroma is light, the flavor more pronounced; it has some caramel with a cereally character, and lowish bitterness.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Appearance: medium amber orange with one finger of near-white head, minimal lacing. Aroma: bready caramel malts, some nuts, brown sugar, earthy hops. Taste: as the aroma indicates, with a bit of floral hops. Finish: slightly sweet, toasty malts linger a bit, but overall a decently clean finish. Notes: A decent enough okto brew. First beer from this brewery, would try another.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Malt, strong dough and yeast aromas. Golden copper in color with a good head. Mild bitters, doughy and fruity esters. Nice lite beer, but an Oktoberfest should be a lager in my opinion.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22 oz bottle served in a Belgian snifter. Poured lightly hazy, brown-amber in color, with a small, off-white head that had OK retention and left just a spotty lacing.
A sweet malty aroma witha nice breadiness.
Flavor: sweet malts in generous portions mix with balancing noble hops that add only a slight bit of spicy hop character, but nicely counter the malts’ sweetness. Simple and mild but pleasant and refreshing.
Feel: Medium body and lively, near medium carbonation.
O: Worth trying, but style is more American Amber than marzen.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from the North Coast Co-Op in Eureka, CA. Pours clear bright copper with a slight yellowish head. Aroma is soft sweet malt with very mild floral/spice. Maybe a little grass. Med body. Flavor is spicy sweet malt with some earth and grass. After the malt melts away there is distinct bitter, but the malt never quite entirely leaves. Guess it’s balanced. One of the more nicely hopped of the marzens I can recall.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a copper red color with a tan lingering head. Slight hop aroma with mostly caramel malt tones. Malt heavy with roasted nutty flavors with caramel notes. A pretty flavorful Octoberfest beer. Nothing spectacular but good nonetheless.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap. Pours a clear orangish amber body with a one finger frothy off-white head that faded to a wispy film. The nose is sweet and malty with some Vienna and caramel malt. Not much to speak of as far as hops go. The flavor is a little husky with toasty and caramel malt sweetness. I could do with a bit more in the hops department to balance things out a bit and add some crispness on the finish. Medium bodied, clingy on the finish, fine fizzy carbonation. Not the best example for the style, but it’s not the worst either.

2.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
When Total Wine & More dropped the price of this to $1.99 a bottle (for a bomber), I grabbed one. It has been sitting in my fridge for weeks, and last night I finally drank it. It didn’t get better in time, that’s for sure. It was just OK, lots of malt forward, and a boring finish. I actually poured half the bottle down the drain. Maybe I will try it again next year, but this beer is easy to forget.
