DA (2280), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Sep 22, 2007 On tap at Belmont Station. Pours amber with a small white head. Malts were lightly toasty, toffee flavors and a fruity finish. Didn’t quite get earthy and malty enough for me. Felt more like an amber ale then a oktoberfest and the finish was a bit metalic. Angeloregon (1549), Portland, Oregon, USA Sep 14, 2007 Poured an orange-amber-bronzed color/ Small off-white head. Gummy floral notes coupled with malty sweetness. Caramel/toffee in the scent was characteristic of PNW meets Bavarian stylistic. Boo yah! harrisoni (4915), Ashford, Kent, England Nov 1, 2006 On tap at Lucky Labrador, Quimby St. Portland. Hazy copper colour with lasting white head. Pleasant peachy aroma, bit of bubblegum. Fullish in mouth, more bubblegum, then odd toffee and hop finish. bit over the top on the bubblegum. TheLeadDog (101), Kent, Washington, USA Oct 29, 2006 Not like the traditional Octoberfest German type beer. Similar to Mack & Jack’s African Amber. Cloudy with a rich thick head that lasts forever. Abundant hop and malt flavor with a slightly dry finish. bitbucket (1476), Kirkland, Washington, USA Oct 13, 2006 Draft at the Duck & Drake in Leavenworth. Pours a cloudy amber with a lacy white head. A big shot of fruit in the nose, along with some bready malt. Medium body and moderate carbonation. More fruit in the taste, along with some nuts and flowery/herbal hops. There seems to be a lot going on in this beer, and it’s almost chewy by comparison to the other Oktoberfest beers I’ve tried.
