2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
12 oz. can with undecipherable (to me at least) coding.
A: Tawny slightly hazy gold color with average carbonation from big rising bubbles producing a good bubbly head that both retains and laces quite well.
S: Prominent stiff cracker malt scent with a soft floral hoppiness.
T: A big belt of sour bread hits first with maybe a bit of soft but lingering hop presence. Not sure whether I like this or not as the sour note is pretty strong and dominates. Going to taste a 2nd bottle before finalizing the rating. 2nd bottle tastes a little better, with a more palatable bread note. Shit is evidently old.
M: Average to slightly below average carbonation and a medium weight..
O: Disappointing beer overall. Strange flavor leaves questions about the age of this beer. As mentioned, the can has some coding but I don’t know what that shit means and the brewer’s webpage also lists no coding info. Piss poor job here. Plus, a couple other brews from this brewer have been mediocre at best. Skip it.

On tap at Fish Tale, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is nearly non-existent, with light grassy notes. Flavour is rather soapy, with light floral notes and detergent. Weak and a bit off. Not a disaster but not good.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Grumbler purchase at Breeze-IN, Juneau AK
This was poured into a pilsener glass.
The appearance was a semi - clear to hazy amber color. Light carbonation rose to fill a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than about 45 seconds. Light stringy lacing graces around the glass.
The smell had a good deal of sweet caramel malts. Light nutty edge closes the aroma nicely.
The taste was sweet and had a light underscore of palatable nuttiness intertwining itself in the aftertaste leading into a sweet wet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there and that lead to a nice smooth feel all around.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good American Pale Lager that I would have again.
