2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 islay (740) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - OCT 28, 201212 oz. bottle, consumed on 10-27-12. Clean, slightly floral, fresh aroma features a lemon scent. The smell is not as powerful as I would prefer and misses the bubblegum, banana, and clove elements of a real hefeweizen. Pours an effervescent gold with a moderate amount of light beige, nearly white head. I consumed the bottle via three small pours. The first two were clear. The last was a hazy, orangish color that looked like apricot nectar. Grassy, weak, and light taste features lemon. Light body. Watery. Slightly undercarbonated in the palate. This is definitely an American Wheat Ale, not a Hefeweizen, and, as such, it is a disappointment.

First time drinking a "nw style" hefe. Not as wheaty and banana as a German hefe
Still a good beer. Cloudy appearance with white head and no lacing. Flavor leaves something to be desired. Malty. Slight clove presence but no banana flavor unfortunately.

12oz brown bottle. Yellow pour, light haze. Small white head with creamy edges, ok lacing. Nose has some citrus. Taste is wheaty, dry, bit of a mineral note sneaks in there. Light body, smooth mouthfeel, some creaminess. Overall, a rather plain interpretation, more of a standard wheat ale than a hefe. Devoid of banana and clove notes, was hoping for something a bit better.

Wheaty but does not represent the true style of german hefe’s very well. Cant really appreciate any clove, banana, bubblegum flavors. More like an american wheat ale. Has maybe a little bit of orange zest flavors. Pretty bland.

Hazy golden orange with nearly no head. Light citrus and banana, yeast, leading to a bready finish.

Bottle. Pours a very cloudy golden color with a small white head. I get almost no smell off this. Taste has just a hint of citrus with some of those wheat notes, but not a lot else. Meh.

Citrus taste at first, with a strong hoppy after note. Good for blue moon lovers, but more hoppy taste. Light head. Also has hints of clove. Nice fruity smell.

Had on tap at Duck’s and Drakes in Leavenworth. Looks and smells decent enough. Hazy gold with a creamy white head. Smell is light floral, maybe a touch of banana. Taste is very mild and almost has a watered down effect. Has a sort of bitter finish also. Fairly disappointing

A hazed blonde wheat ale with a thick white head, In aroma, a sweet fruity malt with raising dough, chalk, OK. In mouth, a light sweet malt with light fruity notes, chalky notes, so-so. On tap at Courtyard Marriott Portland, Oct. 5 2012.

Bottle. Slightly hazy light orange pour with a small head. Muted wheat, lemon, and grass in here. Thin palate. Pretty weak and bland hefe.
