2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
12 oz. bottle, consumed on 10-27-12. Clean, slightly floral, fresh aroma features a lemon scent. The smell is not as powerful as I would prefer and misses the bubblegum, banana, and clove elements of a real hefeweizen. Pours an effervescent gold with a moderate amount of light beige, nearly white head. I consumed the bottle via three small pours. The first two were clear. The last was a hazy, orangish color that looked like apricot nectar. Grassy, weak, and light taste features lemon. Light body. Watery. Slightly undercarbonated in the palate. This is definitely an American Wheat Ale, not a Hefeweizen, and, as such, it is a disappointment.

2.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Gold color. Corn like aroma. Light white lacing. Sips with slight adjunct flavors or corn, slight malt sweetness and flavors of fruit. This is not a brew I would recommend. Tastes mass produced and forced. Flavors of poor ingredients. Sessionable, but undesirable.

8/26/2011: Leavenworth Whistling Pig Hefeweizen (Alpine-Style Wheat Ale)... Aroma: Doughy wheat, slight citrus. Appearance: Hazy gold color; thin beige head. Flavor: Lemony; good wheat malt presence; a big of grapefruit peel; good bite/tang in the finish. Palate: Medium-light; good carbonation level. Overall: Decent.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at Tugboat in Portland, OR on 3 June 2013.
Poured a hazy yellow with a thick, but dissipating white head. Light aroma with light notes citrus notes and light cloves. Orange peal followed by grainy and yeasty flavours. More the US wheat ale, than a good Hefeweizen, but despite that it was pretty drinkable.

Refreshing, and touched with malt sweetness, Whistling Pig Hefeweizen iis an unfiltered wheat bier with a slightly cloudy appearance. A nice light beer that goes well with lunch.

On draught at Molalla Brew Fest. Hazy golden color. Aroma of bread and light hop. Standard wheat and hop taste, not really a good hefeweizen flavor. Ok, but expected more.
