COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Northwest style Hefeweizen is light-bodied, pale amber in color, fruity and refreshing, with a malty wheat character. The flavor is light and crisp with a touch of malt sweetness. Whistling Pig Wheat is unfiltered, with the classic cloudy appearance which characterizes the best Hefeweizens brewed in the Great Pacific Northwest. Whistle Pigs are marmots, small furry critters who live in the high country all around Leavenworth, WA, with especially high concentrations in nearby Whistling Pig Meadow.

12 oz. bottle, consumed on 10-27-12. Clean, slightly floral, fresh aroma features a lemon scent. The smell is not as powerful as I would prefer and misses the bubblegum, banana, and clove elements of a real hefeweizen. Pours an effervescent gold with a moderate amount of light beige, nearly white head. I consumed the bottle via three small pours. The first two were clear. The last was a hazy, orangish color that looked like apricot nectar. Grassy, weak, and light taste features lemon. Light body. Watery. Slightly undercarbonated in the palate. This is definitely an American Wheat Ale, not a Hefeweizen, and, as such, it is a disappointment.

Pours a hazy lighter golden color with white head. Wheat, yeast, and some light fruits on the nose; follows onto the palate. Light bodied. Finishes with wheat and light fruit.

The beer pours with almost no head and, unless Iím sick and donít know it, no aroma. That said, itís smooth and easy to take big sips of, but itís not special and itís not memorable. A good beer to have a few of, but not worth the price I paid here in Pennsylvania for it and pretty weak overall.

Can from Capital Market. Hazy golden brown in color. Lightly sweet and fruity nose. Maybe a hint of yeast character, if that. Bready and a little fruity up front. A little sweetness to go along with a touch of yeast. Sippable beer. Not a really good German hefe.

Draft pint pour at Razzals. Two pints actually. I donít think this beer deserves the hate it gets. I find this to be very American however in the hefe world. Doesnít have the heavy yeast or banana flavor, but the beer still tastes good. I say if it tastes good, it is good. Pours a thick looking peach color with a patchy head and lacing. Nice lemon aroma. Light beer with a ton of wheat and lemon flavor. Iíve heard of this being served with lemon, but itís got plenty without. Very refreshing. I say, nicely done.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow gold body with a one finger frothy white head. The nose is showing some light banana and clove spiciness with a soft wheat and yeast undertone. The flavor is a little less estery and spicy than I prefer for the style, itís much heavier on the malt and wheat flavors instead of being derived from the yeast. Itís a little heavy and clingy. Medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation and a slightly sticky finish. Not a great Hefe, a little too heavy and flabby

Not a great example of a german hefe. the citrus and malt kinda overpower the yeast, which does show itself as a banana-like aroma and flavor. body is overcarbonated as well. meh...

12oz bottle 1/20/15 (Courtesy of TerryR)-46į in Weizen Glass-Pours a murky yellowish orange with a small white head. Aroma of wheat, citrus, and slight banana. Taste of wheat, metallic, citrus, banana, and slight coriander. This light to medium bodied brew is not bad as there are better out there but this fills the gap.

Draught at the brewpub in Everett
Cloudy blond color with generous head; unfortunately served with a lemon wedge. Simple wheat beer, without the character of a Hefeweizen, light fruity esters, and correct bitterness.
Easy but not bad.

Pours a milky/hazy copper colored yellow, typical of Hefeweizen. Giant bright white head. Very little aroma. Slight lemon and anise. Quite aqueous. Weak beer. Great beer for non beer lovers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
