   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 15/20
Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 29, 2006
Cloudy orange-brown body with a medium beige head. A cool wild, spicy, saison-ish aroma emanates from my glass, the type of aroma I can smell for minutes before taking my first sip. Taste is very much a thick earthy fruit juice with pulp and everything (no particular fruit, a bunch of them), plenty of herbs and spices, saison-ish yeast, and a fruity tartness. Like a drinking body said, I would have believed this was a new Fantôme. Interesting experiment, a bit out-there. Once again a French beer with “Bière De Garde” written on the label when it clearly isn’t one. I’m starting to believe they think “Bière De Garde” is English and means “Made in France”.

( 750ml bottle best by 11/24/09 thanks to bu11zeye) Pours cloudy yellow with nice head, and good lacing. Nose of bready yeast and spices. Taste of coriander, earth, cilantro with a creamy and well carbonated finish.

From the bottle this pours a hazy dull amber body topped with a large and sustained white head. No lacing to speak of. The aroma is sweet with grainy malt and maple syrup, warm with brown spices, and has a touch of funky tartness. All blend together neatly in the flavor. Midway, a floral/herbal bitterness shows up and grows slowly. The finish is bitter and dry. Both interesting and satisfying.

A volcano of foam exploded from this bottle after I opened it - cloudy straw color, with an impressive, lasting, foamy head - lovely, subdued nose of wildflower honey and pale malt sweetness, marzipan, doughiness, light herbal character, a touch of earthiness - mild but refined flavor - starts off with the lightest touch of sweetness - prickly but pleasant carbonation - dries out quickly - light notes of cracked, toasted wheat, and moderate earthy, cobweb character - a slight tanginess, bordering on a subtle sourness - ends crisp and bone dry, with a mellow spiciness - VERY subtle, but give it some time - take a few sips - you’ll get it.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of all foam finely sized white colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a hazy softly carbonated yellow colored body. The complex aroma was malty and farmhouse like. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish. The complex flavor contained notes of malt mild hops and floral. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

(750ml bottle) Sampled at Brouwer’s in Seattle, compliments of Matt Bonney. Pours a lasting creamy white head with a cloudy orange amber body. Nose of funky French yeast, tin, lemon aroma. Smooth, almost grape flavour and very fruity. Bitter finish. Good but somewhat tame by comparison to the style.

750 ml. bottle. Best by 5/1/17. Must be pretty fresh for an import... It pours a burnt orange color with a tall white head. The aroma is subtle with some light fruity notes of apple and pear. Some toasted grains as well. The flavor is pleasant with more peppery farmhouse character, light floral and herbal hops, toasted grain and pear/apple fruit. Everything is in good balance. The mouthfeel is medium to heavy with a hint of peaches and honey sweetness. High carbonation. Really pleasant and tasty stuff.
