A volcano of foam exploded from this bottle after I opened it - cloudy straw color, with an impressive, lasting, foamy head - lovely, subdued nose of wildflower honey and pale malt sweetness, marzipan, doughiness, light herbal character, a touch of earthiness - mild but refined flavor - starts off with the lightest touch of sweetness - prickly but pleasant carbonation - dries out quickly - light notes of cracked, toasted wheat, and moderate earthy, cobweb character - a slight tanginess, bordering on a subtle sourness - ends crisp and bone dry, with a mellow spiciness - VERY subtle, but give it some time - take a few sips - you’ll get it.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 CapFlu (4010) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 8, 2007
(750ml bottle) Sampled at Brouwer’s in Seattle, compliments of Matt Bonney. Pours a lasting creamy white head with a cloudy orange amber body. Nose of funky French yeast, tin, lemon aroma. Smooth, almost grape flavour and very fruity. Bitter finish. Good but somewhat tame by comparison to the style.

Bottle from A Southern Season. Looks like a handwritten best by date. 4/16/12. Pours a glowing orange with a large frothy, white head. Nose shows some grain, dusty notes, hay--very malt heavy. Don’t much care for the flavor either. Grainy, dusty, dirty and just not my favorite. Carbonation level is on point, but I just don’t really like the flavor at all. Way too heavy on the malt, in my opinion.

The pour reveals a murky orange color with a medium white head. Strong aroma of allspice, nutmeg and yeast, interesting. The flavor has a balanced and very pleasant blend of allspice, nutmeg, fruits and yeast. The body has a light to medium thickness with a creamy texture and lively carvonation. This obscure beer was a nice surprise, very interesting.

Thanks turdferguson for popping. Pours a cloudy peach skin amber with three fingers of creamy offwhite head. Nose is bready and malty, notes of biscuits and chamomile tea. Flavor is malt forward as well with bread and biscuity notes at the forefront with herbal and leafy hops. Full bodied and a medium crispness on the palate.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 hotstuff (3340) - Indiana, USA - JUL 31, 2008
Bottle with a best consumed before 10/07/09 date. Large semi-frothy white head that mostly diminished, good lacing, semi-transparent, semi-hazy, slow rising carbonation, and a yellow golden hue. The aroma was yeasty, sweet, some wheat, spicy, and fruity. The flavor was sweet, fruity, mildly spicy, yeasty, and a little funky tasting. The mouthfeel was watery and thin Light bodied beer. Quaffable, easy to drink, just an okay beer for me as I could not get into the taste of it so it left me not wanting this one again.

Bottled. Very cloudy yellow pour. The aroma is quite nice with dry oregano, light lemon, and fresh dough. Grassy and fresh body, with a kind of cheesy, wet, farmhouse overall note. Great dryness.
