(750ml bottle, best by 7/24/06) Medium off-white head atop an opaque amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, some herbal, light orange. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, nutty, pepper, some herbal, light chocolate, honey. Fairly dry herbal hoppy finish. Light-medium body, smooth with some effervescence.

750 ml bottle into a 2 oz snifter style glass. Pours a soft copper toned color with a foamed white head. The aroma has some fruitiness while mainly consisting of a yeasty and spiced nose. The flavor brings a heavy spice hint at first that moves into somewhat of a yeasty and peppery citrusy malt taste. I feel like there is some grass notes intertwined in there as well. The finish continues on the spice hoppy note, which lingers for a relative moment. Very herbal, quite light bodied. Good to see some more Biere de Garde’s making there way towards the States. Overall, quietly enjoyable.

Cloudy orange color small head. Aroma is mild and sweet with a hint of funk. Flavor has a touch of barnyard but is relatively light.

Pale golden cloudy pour. Thick sticky white head. The nose is malty and lightly musty. A little bit of light caramelly sweetness over an odd musty, basementy character. A fairly distinct pale malt character on the back with a light minerality on the back. It’s dry and spicy, but also oddly bland. I really want to like this, but I don’t.

Cloudy orangy pour. Smells bready/caramel like a bock. Smooth caramel flavor. Little malt/hops in the aftertaste. It’s rather nice.

(750ml bottle) Sampled at Brouwer’s in Seattle, compliments of Matt Bonney. Pours a lasting creamy white head with a cloudy orange amber body. Nose of funky French yeast, tin, lemon aroma. Smooth, almost grape flavour and very fruity. Bitter finish. Good but somewhat tame by comparison to the style.

Light color with more of a fizz then a head. Very light no real farm house funkness. A bit of sweetness and hops. Very straightforwad.
