UPDATED: MAR 9, 2012 Draft sample at the Third Annual Rocket City Brewfest. Brown in the glass with creamy tan head. Subdue aroma of wheat and hints of clove. The flavor found wheat and a chocolate background. Very light body and a malty aftertaste. 6-3-6-3-12. Growler. Poured dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of molasses and milk chocolate. The flavor found roast, chocolate, and light coffee. Light to medium body and a roast aftertaste. 7-3-6-3-13.

On tap at the Nook. Pours a dark brown with a large tan head. The aroma is smoke, toast, and faint coffee. The flavor is funky and bitter, with a malt backbone through the middle. The palate is thin and watery, with a clean and uneventful finish. Unpleasent flavor and weak body. I am not impressed.

Draft. Sampled at Magic City Brewfest. Pours a medium brown with a small off white head. Aroma and flavor are about right, if on the mild side: some banana and clove with some dark malt notes. Low bitterness. Palate was very thin and watery, though. Glad to see local brewers trying out some rarely attempted styles, but this one needs a bit more work, particularly in terms of the mouthfeel.

The flavor is good, but the beer is very watery. The color is spot on for this beer. I expect this beer to improve as Michael does very well at improving his beer.
