Bottle. Nice dark semi thick pour with a nice brown head. Smells slightly like chocolate and.....why is this smelling sour? First taste.....AAHHH, my asshole is puckering! WTF? Straight vinegar and sour. From the other ratings on here I’m guessing something was wrong with this bomber.

some dark roasted notes on the nose. More of the same with some chocolate covered cherries as well. Interesting porter. I enjoyed it, although it could have been more flavor intensive...just a bit too watery for me.

UPDATED: FEB 26, 2012 An odd porter. Dark brown with brown head - attractive beer. Sweet aroma. But the taste is strangely sour, a little sweet. Having read other reviews I wonder if there was something off with this beer. The label description doesn’t say anything about being sour, either, and it’s not normally a characteristic of a porter. Unfortunate. It looked nice, and was still drinkable. I’d like to try a better bottle, though.

This is one of the worst porters I have had. lack of decent flavor, lack of decent everything.

Bomber pours dark brown black with basically no head, some tan bubbles. Roasted sour notes? Uhm infected? Taste like sour ashes, yeah this bottle wasn’t right.

Had on tap at Chase in Walker, at the brewery, and in bottles. I enjoyed this porter. Rich with flavors.

This one was picked up from the Wine and Spirits store in Walker in the bomber. It poured a caramel brown, with a very short lived head. The malt was well balanced without a sweet overload that the grain bill would suggest. Balanced well by the resiny/citrusy Fuggles. I prefer this one to the Scotch Ale. Very good.

Sample at Winterfest. From notes. Nice dark pour, light brown diminishing head, very little lacing. Aroma and taste are pretty typical for a porter, though I am getting a bit more "smoke" than "roast". Overall, a decent beer, but nothing standout.

Winterfest ’11. Pours hazy brown, a thin off white head. Aroma has notes of some chocolate, roast, and some coffee. Taste is a bit thin, but has some nice roast and a touch of coffee, bitter finish. Not bad, nice flavors but a bit one dimensional.
