Cask @ Champion of the Thames, Cambridge. Dark gold/amber, tries to muster up a little bit of head. Aroma is grassy and vinous. The taste is bready and malty: sweet at first with a dry finish. Bitterness in the back of the throat jars against the otherwise lovely end to the sip. It’s ok but not all that memorable.

Bottle. Golden amber with a decent white head which lasts. Little bit of honey on a mostly malty nose - touch of lemon/grapefruit too. Full, malt-laden bitter mouthful. It’s a "proper" bitter, with a lot of bite. Some cereal and honey and lots of malt, but I’m mostly getting a metallic zesty bitter. Makes me pull funny faces, but a decent drop.
