Cask at The Old Bell, Harrogate. Pours a clear deep orange with a small lasting creamy off-white head. Aroma’s quite buttery (diacetyl) along with light hops. Flavour’s malty along with a decent amount of hops, only slightly buttery, and with a mild, short bitter finish. Medium bodied. It’s alright, an O.K. Bitter.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 chriso (7065) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 14, 2011
Cask (gravity dispense) at Battersea Beer Festival on 10 February 2011. Amber colour. Soft and rather sweet. Distinctly mellow and easy-drinking. Some late bitterness but I still found it a low on bite for my taste - I’d have preferred a more assertive hop presence. Perfectly competent though, just not really my favoured style of bitter.
