Half pint from cask enjoyed in relaxing surrounding at The Carpenter Arms, Marble Arch. Spotty, lacing head. Clear copper body. Nice citric aroma. Smooth flavour of hop resin and rounded bitter aftertaste. Medium to thin bodied. A careful, but decent start to my third drinking day in London (03.08.2009).

(Cask at Caerpenter’s Arms, Marylebone, London, 8 Aug 2009) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity nose with notes of apricots, peaches and citrus. Fruity taste with citrus, apricots, canned peaches and generous doses of grassy hops in the finish. Light body, fairly dry. Nice and refreshing.

Pint pulled at The Midnight Bell in Leeds, clear gold with a creamy head with good lacing. Lots of fruity citrus on the nose. Light and fruity citrus on the palate with a good bitterness in the swallow.

Cask at Merton Summer Beer and Cider Festival 2009 18-07-09 Pours lemony to golden in colour its a great looker to be fair. Some light maltiness on nose. Tangy and fruity in the mouth, the finish is dry and at times I was quite literally bowled over if you’ll pardon the cricketing connection by the thrusting bitterness that shone through. A Mes rate: Cask at the Crown Inn, Stockport.
Bright gold with a thin white head. Lemony hop aroma with an excellent earthy malt base and a little bit of pepper on top. Full on pungent hoppage in the mouth, plenty of fruit and some good earthy notes in the background. Lovely bitter lemon finish with a slight biscuity hint. Decent stuff.

Cask, The Cow and Plough, Stoughton. Clear gold with a white head. Aromas are biscuit malts with citrus, spices and some sulphur. Hints of apricot. Flavours are bitter and hoppy with grapefruit bitterness on the finish. Has a long dry aftertaste.. Refreshing.

Cask in Blackfriars. Aroma is pale biscuity malts, citrus and grassy hop, however small plasticy note is here. Taste is similar but without the plasticy note, quite drinkable indeed, but a little boring.
