Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours an almost clear golden with a huge off-white head leaving some lacework. Aroma of malt and some flowery hops. Medium body, fruity, vitamin C and a rather bitter finish. Not really an ESB - more of a Strong Golden Ale really. 021009

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 weaselkenievil (1093) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - JAN 21, 2009
Bottle. Cloudy golden orange with thin head. Strenght evident but I like that, matches my nose. Wheaty banana and lemon with a fruity bitter finish. Drinkable enough but needs something more to it, not enough knackers for a man with my plumage.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 johndoughty (2947) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - AUG 22, 2008
Bottle. Sharp and bitter with vinegar undertones. Slightly cloudy and the usual poor bottling that this brewery seems to make a habit of. Probably quite reasonable in its cask form.

bottle at cropredy 2007 ... Slightly hazy orange ... fruit hop ... lots of fizz ... strength shows in taste ... toffee malts quite fruty ... sweet with a little wheaty banana.

Bottle. Hazy gold with minimal head. Aromas are fruity with pear and apricot. Lightly hoppy with some creaminess. Flavours are sweet wheat with citrus notes. Some sourness towards the finish with a zesty, bitter finish. Not complex enough for its strength.

500ml Bottle SH Jones Bicester 18-03-06. Bottled version seems a little darker than the golden colour attributed to the cask version. Nice bitterness, dry and some hops but doesn’t really strike me as a wheat beer.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 maeib (6647) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - FEB 14, 2005
Cask conditioned - Handpump - Wellington Birmingham. Please note that the commercial description is written on the pump clip. They are not my thoughts. I didn’t discern any wheat qualities at all. The beer is golden in colour and the aroma is a bit green hop. The taste is distinctly average. there is a bit of hop in there and it is quite sweet but as stated already where’s the wheat and where’s the 6% alcohol?
