johndoughty (1692), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Jan 24, 2007 Bottle.Bronze, and slightly hoppy. Some bitterness seeps in and there is plenty of body considering its relatively low strength. Better bottled than a lot of beers from this brewery. leaparsons (4058), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Mar 31, 2006 Bottle conditioned. Amber gold with a small head. Aromas are herbal and fruity with tea. Sweet green hops abound. Flavours are sweet biscuit malts with mellow lemon and green, resinous, herbal hops. Dry with bitter grapefruit towards the finish with prickly, pepper on the tongue. One of the better beers by Leek. chriso (4420), London, Greater London, England Mar 25, 2006 Cask (handpump) at the Bulls Head, Leek - the brewery tap and, truth be told, a pretty grotty pub with only two cask beers on tap. In fact I wondered whether this was a Leek beer as it didn’t have a proper pump clip and I couldn’t find any reference to it anywhere. However, I was assured by the landlady that it was indeed brewed by Leek. Amber coloured and fairly hoppy in a grassy, herbaceous way. Succulent and fruity but a touch soft on the palate and slightly lacking in presence. Not bad though.
