haddonsman (1205), Derby, Derbyshire, England Feb 16, 2005 Cask (handpulled) at Derby Winter Beer festival 2005. Dark body, tinge of sweetness, thin roast, lacks soul. Garrat (1075), Suffolk, England Jan 13, 2005 From a bottle.Very dark in colour,no head.Cold instant coffee, sour mouth in the morning feel, poor stout. SilkTork (3950), Rochester, Kent, England May 24, 2004 Bottle Conditioned. Whoever is doing the bottling for Leek, they are not doing them any favours. Another sharp beer, destroying any real sense of what this stout would be like under ideal conditions. As it is, it’s roasty, coffee, chocolate with wine flavours. leaparsons (4058), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Feb 10, 2004 Brewed to honour Brian Clough the "Old Big Ead". Not sure he would like it. Aromas are very earthy with licourice sourness. Flavours are also earthy with OK roast malts. The mouthfeel is, er, powdery - like many Leek beers. Odd. In fact, is Brian Clough an alcoholic? Oops.
