Also sold as Blanche de Quenast in Dia/Ed supermarkets, as Floreffe Wit for Floreffe Abbey, as Mediterranea for the Italian market, as Blanche de Francorchamps, as t Geheim van de Smit, as Manneken Pis, and as L’Alsacienne Blanche de l’Eté.
Ingredients: Malted barley; wheat (40%); coriander; bitter orange peel; sugar; hops; yeast.
Blanche de Bruxelles owes its natural cloudiness to the large percentage (40 %) of wheat that goes into its composition. The natural spice aromas of coriander and bitter orange peels are added during the brewing process. The brewing method, which includes infusion, is very slow. The beer, which is not filtered, is bottled and refermented with yeast and brewing sugar. You need only take a sip of this delicious drink to appreciate the fresh and mellow flavour with its hint of orange. It is really not like any other beer. Always served chiled, between 3°C and 6°C.

Bottle: The aroma has lots of lemon with light yeast and corriander and hints of orange. It pours a cloudy pale yellow with a small white head that quickly fades to a ring. The flavor starts with a mixture of moderate tart lemon with some light lemon candy. In the middle there’s a funky yeastiness and seems a little off. The flavors really thin out quickly in the finish and become watery with hints of corriander. The mouthfeel is a little thin with lively carbonation.

Drinking from a bottle of Blanche de Bruxelles. Excellent pour, a cloudy pale straw body with a huge rocky white head that caves in ever so slowly. Nice lemony, spicy aroma with bread dough and a bit of soapy yeast. With that beginning, I was surprized that the ale is somewhat watery, thusly muting its flavors. It has soft wheat, light lemon juice, a trace of coriander, and a mild citric tartness. The finish is quietly spicy and leaves a bit of a powdery feeling in the mouth.

Some huskiness in the retros and a bit of an unclean after taste.
The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively.
A bit overly bready/doughy, but not bad.

This hazy, lightly straw colored Belgian wit has an OK head and a sweet and acidic aroma. The flavour is sweet with acidity and notes of spice and fruit (banana and citrus) before the milt, slightly bitter finish. It’s a light and refreshing wit with complexity.
