Also sold as Blanche de Quenast in Dia/Ed supermarkets, as Floreffe Wit for Floreffe Abbey, as Mediterranea for the Italian market, as Blanche de Francorchamps, as t Geheim van de Smit, as Manneken Pis, and as L’Alsacienne Blanche de l’Eté.
Ingredients: Malted barley; wheat (40%); coriander; bitter orange peel; sugar; hops; yeast.
Blanche de Bruxelles owes its natural cloudiness to the large percentage (40 %) of wheat that goes into its composition. The natural spice aromas of coriander and bitter orange peels are added during the brewing process. The brewing method, which includes infusion, is very slow. The beer, which is not filtered, is bottled and refermented with yeast and brewing sugar. You need only take a sip of this delicious drink to appreciate the fresh and mellow flavour with its hint of orange. It is really not like any other beer. Always served chiled, between 3°C and 6°C.

Very refreshing with strong citrus and wheat aroma. Pretty cloudy yellow pour. A bit of citrus bitterness but not overpowering. Unique beer, very different and great on a hot day.

33cl Flasche. Strohgelbes trübes Bier mit schönem weissem Schaum. Recht schwacher Hefe und Zitronenduft. Geschmack typisch Wit. Frisch und zitronig.

Tap @ Cafe Brussels, though I’ve had it several times before. Hazy gold with a frothy white head. Lots of coriander and yeast. Somewhat unbalanced but not bad.

Korianderes kuraszaós, nem annyira jön be, kicsit citromaromás, izesített söörkre jellemzően. Pluszba egy kis zöld kocka WC illatosító is bekúszik a nyelvünk alá.

DATE TASTED: December 31, 2015... GLASSWARE: Weihenstephan weizen...OCCASION: enjoying a slow creep towards 2016 with my loved ones... APPEARANCE: sallow, dusty off-yellow body that reveals lonely bubbles upwards; the off-white head is frothy and soapy, retaining well enough but giving way to satellites of lacing before resting as a coaster of reasonable quarter-finger froth... AROMA: banana front and center, with faint pepper and light orange citrus... suggests an easy, agreeable drink, with bubblegum and light barnyard yeastiness accompanying the experience... PALATE: light, soft-spoken sips that smoothly find their way to a bit more vibrancy at the throat’s end... mouth-rinsing depth with an apologetic draw... thin and lacking an aftertaste of note--though one cannot expect much of this, given its style...drinkable, yes... TASTE: the orange peel moves among the wheat and banana to evoke creamsicle, with enough lemon grass and other citrus leaving an acidic finish...little other spice or nuance tov speak of, rendering this a straight-forward refresher... OVERALL: on an 80-degree day, I might have been less discerning, but in late December, this beer doesn’t hold enough profile to be considered as an outstanding example of its genre... yet it doesn’t challenge the palate or disparage its intentions either...

500 ml can. Cloudy yellow body with a medium sized white head. Quite mild aroma with wheat, some citric fruit, mild spices and yeast. Flavor is rather light as well, some pale malt and wheat with hint of slightly sour citric fruit (almost like lemon but not quite there), spices and a faint hint of honey. Low, almost no bitterness. Medium to thin body and short in aftertaste. Decent thirst quencher but not really that interesting, almost any other Wit would do the same job.

Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow gold body under a one finger frothy white head that faded to a wispy film. The nose is rather nice, fruity and yeasty with some moderate coriander and orange peel. The flavor isn’t all that spectacular, but it’s not terrible. The coriander is a bit heavy for me, it comes across as a bit soapy on the finish. I like the fairly heavy yeastiness though. Light bodied and fairly smooth with soft fizzy carbonation. Meh, not the worst wit, but again, a little heavy on the coriander.

Degustata in bottiglia da 75cl. Colore giallo pallido leggermente torbido, buona schiuma. All’olfatto la sensazione č buona, sa di Belgio e di ricordi birra, perň al gusto sa di supermercato. Č una birra piů estiva da aperitivo che invernale.
