3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: OCT 25, 2003 Shy Head on a golden beer. Spicy and fruity aroma. Sweet oranges and apples marry lemon and malt. Interesting, but ordinary for an abbaye, answers expectations.

Frothy head. Yoghurtaroma and flavor. Some late hopbitterness. Orange. Upcoming chessy sourness. A totally unexpected tatste, and I didn't like it. Something must have gone wrong with this bottle.

Yeast, bubblegum aroma, light amber, pours a huge white billowy head, leaves a pretty lace. Candy, bubblegum flavours, some bread as it warms. Sweet but oh so nice. A really fine Belgian.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Beige-tan colour. Thin, creamy head. Very estery aroma (lemon, apple, mango) w/ faint herbal hops. Sweet grapefruit beginning, some lemon notes, faint bubblegummy phenols. Malts are understated, providing structural backbone to the fruitiness. A slightly earthy hop finish slices through the well-sugared grapefruit to dry the beer out. Nicely balanced, quality “Single”. The way the malt donates just body and sweetness to carry the esters is especially noteworthy.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
i don’t know what happened with this one. there i was in this shitty tent at the 2002 miss wallonia pageant and i ordered one of these and it arrived already poured, with absolutely zero head, and smelling and tasting exactly like bad sweet white wine. i dont know whether to blame the bar, the beer, the bottle, or my distracted state.
