Ungstrup (11713), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 17, 2003 A slightly hazy orange beer with a large but fast disappering head - a very lively beer. The aroma is dominated by yeast with spicy notes. Too faint an aroma for my liking. The flavor though is nice. It is yeasty, malty, and dry with no bitterness but the alcohol prickling the tongue. The flavor also contains notes of oranges, coriander, and a spice I can't distinguise The palate is a little weak. All in all a fine blonde, but nothing special. Papsoe (11076), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 4, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) Dark golden, with a decent head. Loads of yest in the brew, and yeasty notes. But very sugary - overly sweet actually. But somehow still manages to be quenching. Somewhat anonymous - I miss something in here. 211296 omhper (10950), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 13, 2004 Sampled draught at Man in the Moon, Stockholm.
Pale amber, small creamy head. Perfumy malt aroma. Fairly sweet with note of raisins and vinous malt flavour. Some grassy hiops in the finish. yespr (7833), Copenhagen O, Denmark Sep 20, 2007 33 cL bottle. Pours golden orange with a huge slight creamy head. Malty yet slight spiced aroma, reminds me a bit of a pilsner. Sweet and slight soapy malt flavour - sweet. The sweetness is nicely broken by slight spiced and acidic notes. Caramel flavoured too. Ends floral, slight spiced and a grassy bitter. Somewhat different blonde, doesn’t seem that good at first but wins for every sip I take - nice. Oakes (7032), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Dec 19, 2002 Beige-tan colour. Thin, creamy head. Very estery aroma (lemon, apple, mango) w/ faint herbal hops. Sweet grapefruit beginning, some lemon notes, faint bubblegummy phenols. Malts are understated, providing structural backbone to the fruitiness. A slightly earthy hop finish slices through the well-sugared grapefruit to dry the beer out. Nicely balanced, quality “Single”. The way the malt donates just body and sweetness to carry the esters is especially noteworthy.
