This hearty beer is reddish in color and boasts a rich, creamy head, with overtones of anise and dry hop flavor.

On tap at Bier Markt, Toronto. Pours a fait size frothy brownish head but doesn’t stay very long. Weak lacing. Dark brown appearance. Aromas of roasted malt, notes of herbal hops and coffee. Flavours of dark roasted malts, dry fruits (raisins, dates). Licorice flavours in the finish. Average carbonation and retention. Somewhat disappointing but still enjoyable.

Dark brown and subtle red color with a fine tan head. Ok intensity in the aroma. Medium + body and a tad rich carbonation. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Some acidity. Yeast, dried fruits, toffee and bready.

Reddish with firm of white head. Nose with lots of maltiness and almost chestnut in flavour. Also lots of malt in the taste with the same chestnut. Nice companion.

Aroma: Medium bread crusts. Medium-light marshmallows, candy floss, fruity, apricot, fig jam, preserved watermelon skins, licorice, dried fruits. Appearance: Brilliant, light brown body. Small, light-brown head, fair retention. Flavour: Medium-light malt, bready, melanoidin, fig, Medium dry finish with lingering malt, bready and light fig, licorice.. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation. Overall: Missing the complexity that was promised in the aroma. The body is too light and carbonation too low. 330 ml bottle, poured. Thanks Andre! 26B. Belgian Double
