This hearty beer is reddish in color and boasts a rich, creamy head, with overtones of anise and dry hop flavor.

SAQ Mtée Paiement. Nice brown vinny aroma, dark brown color with a head comparing to cappucino head. This beer taste a little bit like the X.O. Cognac beer...strong taste with a smooth finale in mouth...I’m perplex about this beer, acid sour taste but creamy palate.

UPDATED: AUG 9, 2009 Really good, some cherry and cola notes with balanced malts and funky yeast fruits. Pleasing mouthfeel and subtle, comforting aroma. ** more notes 2009 ** Cola, woody spices cherry and apple, tart and sweet. Well at least Im fairly consistent.

5/8 bière de l’embalage cadeau Lefebyre. Arome très légère, épicé. Rouge très foncé avec un beau collet. Goût; un peu épicé, fruité mais très légé et sec. Arrière goût très plaisant.

33 cl bottle. Dark brown colour with a nice head made up of large bubbles. Aroma of fruits, spices, prunes or plums, and cherries notes. Nice complex flavours of spice, raisin, and some red wine character. Much better as it warms up. Heavy sediment at the bottom. Very enjoyable beer.

Dark brown with a large bubbly beige head. The aroma was strong and malty with orange marmalade and dark fruits. The taste was on the thin side. Sweetness, a bit of tartness, but none of the impact promised by the aroma.

bottle. pours a deep burgundy with a medium off-white head receding into a small ring shortly after. the aroma is malt-accented with plum notes, raisin, sugar, and cherries. there is also a somewhat lactic quality to it also. flavour is pleasantly fruity - plum, sugary raisins, and caramel. mildly tart towards the end. very good as it warms up.

Aroma: hints of sharp apple, tobacco, aniseed and malt. Appearance: dark brown with a fluffy off white head made up of large bubbles. Leaves patchy lacing. Flavour: sweet burnt caramel, more of the apple, some abscorbic acid and barely any spiritousness. Palate: thin to medium, highly carbonated with a caramel aftertaste.
