Poor head, dark amber body, lots of carbonation. Very fruity, less yeasty than other abbey Dubbel I had, very well balanced, not too complex. Tastes of anis and dark fruits.

Sweet alcohol aroma... Plums, black cherries, nutmeg, vanilla, bananas and dried grapes, basically a christmas fruit cake! Rich frothy head... very sweet beer, gets better and better with room temperature... light bitterness at the end... the aroma of this beer way surpasses its taste...

Bottled [BB 09/2007]. Very dark brown color, not much head. Caramelly and fruity aroma (toffee, prunes). Very carbonated. Dried fruits dominate, but flavor is thin. Easy to drink, a bit sweet, not very complex.

UPDATED: APR 18, 2008 In short: A light plumy Abbey Dubbel. Good foundation but body too light for the style
How: Bottle 330ml, many times, usually fresh. Consistent taste across different batches/years
The look: Cloudy light mahogany with a large rocky beige head.
In long: Aroma of roasted malt and some molasses. Taste is malty, plums, molasses/liquorice. Light-medium body. Medium body with light bitterness. A cross between a Belgian Ale and a Bock? It’s a good beer but it tastes a bit like a light Floreffe Prima Melior (somewhat similar but a lot tamer). And with the Prima Melior in the same family this one becomes as forgettable as Jermaine Jackson from Jackson family.

Very enjoyable beer. Pours dark brown colour with a generous head. Some spices. Had it at the Bier Market, in Toronto.
