Flavour: sweet burnt caramel, more of the apple, some abscorbic acid and barely any spiritousness. Palate: thin to medium, highly carbonated with a caramel aftertaste.

33 cl bottle. Brown colour with a very nice creamy head. Great aroma spice and some roastedness. Nice complex flavour of spice, ends some bitter. But overall the beer becomes very lightful.

Red burgundy ale with a thin 0ff-white head. Sweet caramel and vinous aroma, with prunish notes. In mouth, sweetish malts with good hops, and spicey orange peels. Medium bodied. Nice molasse develops at warming. Bottle at l’Autre Oeil.

I had the "quad" of these fellows while in belgiun, thanks to a russian fellow who was staying in holland. I thought that an excellent beer and this is too. Aroma is great, one of the better dubbel/brunes kickin about, dark fruits, red wine characters, yeast and goodness. Taste maybe not quite as full, but then its only 6.3%. fruityness is held though though not as sweet as i may have expected or wanted even, dry finish, unusual for the style and aroma. Still a great beer and wouldnt complain about getting a few more.

Bottle (at room temp): Poured a cloudy deep brown color ale with a super huge head with perfect retention. Aroma of caramel malt with distinctive Belgian yeast. Taste is a well balance mix between sweetness, strong malt with a nice touch of caramel and some subtle sourness with light funky yeast. Body is a bit thin for the style but overall this is a very nice dubbel.
