3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: JUN 5, 2007 Bottle. Pours a brownish colour with a little steady head. Aroma is nice - sweet yeasty. Taste is equally sweet, some spices. The sweetness does not come from malts alone - thus it is quite nice.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown color with a coarse, foamy tan head. Sweet malty, sugary, caramel-ish, dark fruity aroma. Hefty malt flavors with a definite yeast presence, along with dried dark fruits (raisins, plums, dates), and fresh apples and pears. A touch of bitter hops at the finish. Rich, somewhat syrupy mouthfeel. Pretty good stuff, but not spectacular.

Average duration, heavy sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness; nutty caramel roasted malt and earthy yeast flavor with trace fruit and flowers. Medium bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation and a bitter finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very nice dubbel. Not too full, but good mouthfeel. I like the high carbonation. Altho doesn’t explode in your mouth like some belgian products. Liqourice, roast, not too sweet. Good.
