OK looking. The body is thick enough. Nose of caramel, chocolate, fruit. pretty unique taste. Anise coming up along with aftertaste. Much better than "Blanche de Bruxelles" from the same brewery.

Didnt liked this one so much. Nice smell, color and creamy head but It has a kind of a salmiak drop after taste wich I did not like.

330ml bottle. Pours a dark, but claer caramel colour with a half finger, off-white head that quickly fades to a thin film. Aroma is faint but pleasant with hints of sugar, caramel, bread, and a touch of spice. Taste is a hint of sweet with a malty, alcohol aftertaste. Slight warmth in the throat. Medium body with a medium-high carbonation produces a bubbly mouth feel. Not a bad beer. Would probably buy again to mix it up but wouldn’t go out of my way to find or keep it around.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2014 Quite a sweet Dubbel. Aroma of roasted malts, spices, brown sugar, syrup. Flavour is quite sweet and herbal. Anise is used here to good effect, its overtones are defining but not distractingly so.

Red-brown colour. Aroma of sweet red fruit and some metal. Flavour has red fruits, raisin and malts. Light aniseed in the aftertaste.

Dark brown, big lightly brown head, really nice in tulip glass. Sweet and caramel aroma, nice fruity and anise flavour, maybe bit of lecorice, bitter aftertaste with MUCH anise. Could be better with bit less carbonation. 330ml bottle from local supermarket (at about 1,8€)

Clear dark ruby, dark brown with light brown foam head lacing. Aroma is caramel, some nuts. Taste is bit too sweet caramel, some syrup. Short aftertaste. (Den Haag 201307) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is another of those abbey dubbels that I would not chase for a second time. I don’t like that anise touch, it is thin and BAWring...
