3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Amazing brown double abbey ale. Little sweet, very balanced ale, not too heavy, malty, an amazing friend, nice hoppy taste, delicious.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours clear amber-brown with cola red highlights, a short and short-lived light tan head diminishing rapidly to a thin skim, no lacing. Nose is muted, brown sugar and dark fruit. Taste is moderate candi sugar sweetness, slight sour/tart, low spice. Light to medium body, low sustained carbonation, with an off-dry mild bitter lingering finish.
Fairly boring abbey dubbel, with both nose and flavour on the muted side. Appearance is also disappointing, with the short-lived short head and absence of lacing. Not unpleasant, but there are lots of better alternatives out there.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a cola color with a dense tan had. The smell is roasted malt, dark fruit, brown sugar. The taste is as it smells with the addition of licorice and molasses. The body of light/medium with active carbonation. Pretty nice stuff.

Left the glass alone and the foam made a mountain on top of the glass. Brown liquid. Sweet dark malt and yeast aroma. Dark malt flavour. Chocolate, coffee, a little toffee and anise. Light dustiness. Sweetish.

Dark brown in colour, with virtually no head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, raisin, plum, and vanilla. Taste is a sour, citrus tartness, hints of plum and raspberries, followed by notes of toast, roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Fairly light body, thin, with average carbonation and a long lingering finish.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tasted as Floreffe Double and as Durboyse Brune. Mousse-like, stable, light beige head, colour very dark mahogany brown with ruby hue. Aroma of caramel malts, coffee grounds, dates, iron, aniseed, raisins; malty taste, simple and one-sided, bit metallic, sweetish, smooth mouthfeel, light bitterish aftertaste, hint of roasted bitterness. Totally redundant abbey dubbel.

Ik heb dit zowel in de floreffe-versie gedronken als in de durboyse-versie. Een heel lekker donker bier

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle@home. Very dark reddish. Huge foam. Caramel toffee dark dried fruit. Not mush spicyness. Sweet with some alcoholic mouthfeel. Classic dubbel which makes a monk survive the monastey.
