Drunk in aperitiv with friends in a 75cl bottle, brown colour with a good head, aroma is spicy and taste is much complex and spicy, with liquor/wine and roasted malt notes. Pleasant and good carbonation.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2016 Piana średnio pęcherzykowa, w postaci pierzynki dość długo pozostająca na powierzchni trunku. Barwa herbaciano bordowa, opalizująca. Aromat słodki, prym wiodą ciemne winogrona, czerwone jabłko, rodzynki i karmel. Nagazowanie średnie, półpełne i "śliskie" w odczuciu. Alkohol wyraźnie rozgrzewający, choć nie rozpuszczalnikowy. Całkiem udany przedstawiciel stylu, w porównaniu do klasyków czuć tu bardziej wyeksponowane świeże aniżeli suszone owoce. Godny substytut szampana na sylwestra :)

33cl bottle at Café De Ploeg, Ghent (23 IX 2015). A beautiful dark brew of red black colour with a yellowish brown collar on top. The aroma is filled with cereals, coffee, nuts and roast. The yeast makes me think of cellar and leather. There is some cough drop in there too. This heavily sweet, light bitter and light sour brew definitely has a heavy body, with a somehow creme (or even oily) texture and flat to soft carbonation. The finish is long, yet I’m afraid the taste is just a that too flat. Too bad actually.

Malts, slight roasted malts, caramel, spices, yeast, dark fruits, slight chocolate, slight licorice.

Dark brown beer with a huge light brown head.

Starts faintly sweet, gets more sweet with lots of malt, caramel and fruit; ends rather spicy and slightly bitter.

Texture moyennement mince. Effervescence un peu trop intense. Bonne brune, bel équilibre, complexité à revoir. Haut taux d’alcool bien caché.

11/21/2006 1:28:13 AM Bottle at home. A really amazing ale. Burgundy color. Thick, syrupy with tastes of licorice, oatmeal, berries. Incredibly smooth, with alcohol content totally hidden. Perhaps too sweet?

UPDATED: SEP 7, 2015 From a bottle. Not a light beer at all, this is a serious undertaking be well worth it, rich flavours with a yeastie finish.
