Bottle, shared with my wife. Medium chestnut brown colour, medium beige head. This beer presents a decent malt structure, but is overpowered by a black licorice presnce. If the body was bigger, then maybe th licorice thing would wok better, but s it I, the beer came across as unbalanced and a tad thin (yes, even at 8%).

Clear brown color, big off-white head. Unpleasant fig aroma. Also strong fig taste, figs, figs, figs, some dark fruit, caramel and marzipan. And figs. Medium body, average carbonation. Marzipan was interesting part, but I really don’t like figs.

Donkerbruin met creme kraag. Geur is niet heel sterk. Zoet heeft wel de boventoon. Ook in de smaak voornamelijk zoet. Licht zuurtje bij de afdronk. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very dark brown color with reddish hue, huge off white head. Aroma of figs, malts, brown sugar, honey. Medium to full body, average carbonation. Medium sweet taste. Not bad, but not my cup of tea also.

Darker pour. Shows little alcohol. Aroma and flavor of anise, yeast and light spices. Every so slightly fruity (orange). Light, dry body. Not too shabby...."

Bottle, 0.33l. Murky dark brown color with medium frothy light brown color, nice lacing and sparkling appearance. Aroma of caramel, dried fruits, medicines, yeast and honey. Taste starts with sweet and rich toasted and mildly roasted malt, follows refreshing yeasty and dried fruit’s acidity, warming alcoholic mouthfeel and mild bitter finish. Full body, thick texture and fizzy natural carbonation. Classy strong Belgian ale...

The heaviest and most interesting of the Floreffe range, with thick, yellow beige, moussy head and very dark brown colour, almost blackish, with wine-red hue. Malty and fruity aroma with spices, impressions of chocolate, caramel, banana, apple, passion fruit, coffee grounds, coriander, cloves, cinnamon, orange peel, port wine, hazelnut paste, honey, marzipan, cream. Full malty taste with dry coriander effect that will accompany the entire palate, finish a chicory kind of bitterishness, bit roasted, as well as warming, gin-like alcohol.
