Subtle aroma - got some apricot, orangle peel, but less of the spices - the anis promised by the bottle was virtually undetectable (to me, anyway). Fine looking beer, had a nice burnt orange translucence to it. Tastes of toffee and orange fruits, more mellow and subtle than I expected. Certainly quaffable. Definite yeast, the orange peel and coriander come through more as it warms. Not bad.

33cl bottle. Dark brown/black colour with a nice tan head. Malt, spices, yeast, dark fruits, light chocolate and light liquorice in the aroma. Medium carbonation and medium to full body. Taste is more on the sweet side with light bitter notes. Overall, a good beer.

33 cl bottle. Pours very dark reddish brown with dense sand-coloured head. Aroma is loads of black fruit: blackberry, blackcurrant. Along goes a hint of black coffee. All very black. Mouthfeel is powerful, structured, round, with all flavours in perfect balance. Delicious.

Bottle 33 cl. Aspect : brun foncé à mousse relativement persistante. Nez : caramel, chocolat, fruits rouges.

Nagazowanie średnie, półpełne i "śliskie" w odczuciu. Alkohol wyraźnie rozgrzewający, choć nie rozpuszczalnikowy. Całkiem udany przedstawiciel stylu, w porównaniu do klasyków czuć tu bardziej wyeksponowane świeże aniżeli suszone owoce. Godny substytut szampana na sylwestra :)

33cl bottle at Café De Ploeg, Ghent (23 IX 2015). A beautiful dark brew of red black colour with a yellowish brown collar on top. The aroma is filled with cereals, coffee, nuts and roast. The yeast makes me think of cellar and leather. There is some cough drop in there too. This heavily sweet, light bitter and light sour brew definitely has a heavy body, with a somehow creme (or even oily) texture and flat to soft carbonation. The finish is long, yet I’m afraid the taste is just a that too flat. Too bad actually.

Aroma:
Malts, slight roasted malts, caramel, spices, yeast, dark fruits, slight chocolate, slight licorice.

Dark brown beer with a huge light brown head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts faintly sweet, gets more sweet with lots of malt, caramel and fruit; ends rather spicy and slightly bitter.
