33cl fliptops bought 2013, on draught @Waterhuis a/d Bierkant, Gent - backlog. Pours eminently Belgian golden-copper with mountainous rocky head, barely contained by its tall bulb glass. Never really hoppy enough to justify its name, but pleasantly herbal and fresh on draught to deal with the toasty Belgian ale substratum of lean & laden Vienna/caramalts and excess oomph. Elegantly balanced and solidly bitter hopped (East Kent Goldings? + Fuggle?) considering that amped abv, but relying on a traditional recipe, merely packing some gentle surplus floral and earthy aroma hops. Drinks almost as easily as a UK ESB at double its strength, not necessarily offering twice the subtlety in taste.

Conclusie: lekker biertje, goed mondgevoel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2014 750ml bottle from St. Veronus. Received to Veronus 03/14, no bottled date. Diam classic corked bottle. Abundant white frothy head. Traditional Euro IPA floral notes on aroma. Not as hoppy as expected. Alcohol and herbalness on finish.

Bottle from a colleague at work. Clear gold lasting thick white head. It’s an ok strong Belgian blond. It’s fine. A bit bland. A bit boozy. Fine but very simple Belgian ale.

Bottle. Pours golden with a big head. Aroma of fruity, floral with a hint of malt. Taste is bready, malty, lemon with a bitter finish.

Blonde grosse carbo et gros collet. Aromes fruités et fleuris. Un peu sucrée mais bien contrebalancée par l’amertume.

Pours a golden yellow colour, consistent haziness with a frothy white head. Aroma is quite subtle with a little fruitiness and some floral scents. The taste is unique and quite sweet with a noticeable bitter kick in the sip. Light body, thinner mouth feel, and lively carbonation. Interesting beer overall.

One of the new generation of ’tripel hop’ beers in Belgium, holding the middle between the old, family brewer’s tripel and the new IPAs micro breweries come up with these days. A great success for Lefebvre and hopped with no less than five hop varieties (so technically I shouldn’t have used the term "tripel" hop, but you get my drift). A golden blonde beer with a thick, stable, cream white head and fruity main character adorned with yeasty spiciness and a long, complex, grassy, herbal, peppery hoppiness, not quite as bitter as in a real IPA, but still. The deposit is supposed to be served separately in a small liquor glass, as is sometimes done with oude geuze or Orval.

Smells of cherries and wood, very unique earthy aroma! Imported by a college station, TX company=random GIG EM! The intricate strong fruit and subtle hops with mellow malts makes this awesome!
