Pours a cloudy darker caramel color with a boozy head. Aromas of strong aged toffee/caramel, slight barnyard/hay. (Initial thought is ’Why do they call this hopus? There is nothing hoppy about it?) Flavors of strong toffee with some medium caramel, hay and slight barnyard. High sweetness to the effect of a candy-likeness. Overall the toffee dominates every sense here.

Part of my 2013 backlog, and a gift brought back from Belgium. Hazy golden colour with a huge foamy white head. The aroma has plenty malt, also with fruit and hops. The taste sweet and fruity.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2014 An OK beer, nice popping bottle, foam in abundance (too much I think). The nose is interesting quite hoppy but the taste doesn’t follow, it is too sweet and not complex enough. It is good but nothing special.

Abundant white foam top. Clear apple juice colour. First impression of overwhelming alcohol. Despite the name and the attractive label where hops are put forwards, this beer doesn’t fulfill my expectations as far as hops are concerned. Second impression of sweetness. It still qualifies as an easy-to-drink beer when you need to provide for more conservative drinkers.
