Bottle at the Evening Star, Brighton, 14th July 09. Very clear bright yellow with a big lacy head. Very fresh and ckean hop aroma. Ditto taste, helped by a smooth and refined palate. Quite wheat beer-like in some aspects.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle 33. Gold colour with a deep head. The whole hop flavour is fantastic and complex. Nice body anyway, quite sweet for this alcool high, some caramel aroma and honey smells can be detected too.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Beautiful in the glass with a mountainous long-lasting head. Individual hoppy and citrus flavour not delivered by any other beer I’ve tasted with an ABV this high. Alcohol doesn’t come through very much which makes this very refreshing.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled @ In de Wildeman. Aroma has strong hoppiness, citrus, some grass and yeast. Hazy, golden coloured beer with a white, lasting head. The taste is bitter, citric, bit grainy, bit malty and yeasty. Nice.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Swing top bottle into Trappist glass. A hazy bright golden ale with a large white head. Nose of honey malts, citrus hops and warming alcohol. Flavour is moderately sweet malts evolving into a spicy fruity dry hop bitterness and a harsh warming alcoholic finish. The finish is rather medicinal and off-putting. Thick rich palate with an oily mouthfeel. I have tasted many better Belgian blonds.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A Mes rate. Bottle from Quinns.
A semi hazy gold colour with a good white head. Full of pukey malt and slightly floral and perfumed. Faint spice, usual Belgian yeasty notes. Really boring.
