3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Maybe I should have waited with thisone. I needed a dubbel, but opened the wrong bottle. Alcohol, stickyness, sweet sugar, perfume, dry, triple-feeling. Amber look. Hmmm!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle pours a clear amber colour with a short beige ehad. Sweet, yeasty, caramel, toasty malty and dark fruity aroma. Sweet caramel, yeasty, toasty and spiced flavour with some alcohol, dark ripe fruits and bitter hops. Sweet toasty and bit spiced finish. Rather unbalanced with too much alcohol but still fine.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
330ml bottle. Golden brown body with an off-white head. Sweet perfumed malty aroma with some caramel. Flavor is sweet malty, caramel, candy sugar, alcohol and overripe apple. This beer is complex but not necessary well balanced. Maybe a few years in the cellar may do the trick.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear copper / orange poor with a frothy off-white head. Aromas of oak, green bananas, typical leffe yeast, creme brule, chestnuts and a tad of brown sugar. Creamy and slightly oily mouthfeel. Good effervescence. Crisp dry finish with an enjoyable bitter mouthfeel. Added flavors of caramel and coriander. Ok....

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at cellar temperature. Sweet aroma that continues into the taste. A hint of malt in the middle and a touch of bitter in the finish. Pleasing all around.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Very sweet nose but complex. Some fruit, grapes and cherries, light yeast presence, strawberries and plums. Clear but deep amber color with active carbonation up to a patchy white head. Flavor isn’t nearly as complex as the nose. Undistinguished sweetness fades off quietly. Palate opens full-bodied but thins out, settles into some biting sharpness and finishes sweet.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
I bought a six pack (if you can really call six 25cl beers a six pack) of these because there weren’t any 750s and I wanted to try it. I may have given myself a cavity because, damn, this stuff is sugary sweet. The aroma consists of some pepper, dates, bananas and a 50lb sack of sugar with a couple gallons of caramel poured over top of it. There’s just a hint of alcohol as well. Flavour is incredibly sweet as expected, with some spicy and peppery brightness, but mostly insanely sweet. The finish contains some alcohol, which is quickly washed away in a flood of sugar. The full-ish body and creamy texture do nothing to end the monotony of sweetness, though thankfully the bristling carbonation does break up the party just a bit. Oh right, clear copper coloured with a medium-sized, frothy white head. Very raw, very alcoholic, your dentist will be very rich. 25cl bottle, Leffe goblet.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A fantastic addition to the Leffe range. Leffe 9 is like a blend of the Leffe Triple and the Leffe Blond. Its a rich golden colour with a sweet and slightly fruity palate followed by a lovely warming alcoholic finish and a rich creaminess which leaves you asking for more. Unfortunately I’ve only been able to get the Leffe 9 in Belgium but hopefully it will be brought to Australia soon so we can all enjoy this rich abbey ale.
