A middle of the road Belgian ale. Sweet and malty with slight yeasty spice. Not bad.

Bottle from Chris who got it from Kyle who works for Inbev. Cheers guys! I remember drinking this gear in France about 7 years ago. It tasted better to me back then but I’m more of a dick about beer these days. I still enjoyed it though. Pours clear Golden with a bubbly White head. Nice Belgian character with coriander and yeasty pepper. Quite boozy. Pretty textbook.

Bottle. Pours an amber color, very much like a Speciale Belge. Aromas are part sweet, part hearty and robust. Sweet is caramel with chocolate, faint hints of bread and banana. Robust part is bacon, wood chips, smoke aromas. Taste has a typical Leffe sweetness to it. Starts with a sweet and sour rush, like a slightly unripe orange, tangerine. Boozy kick at three quarters of the taste. Bitter and dry finish. This is a good beer, it's just that it is not completely my taste.

330ml bottle from Vanuxeem. Pours clear gold with good white head. Nice sweet aroma. Taste is vibrant and on the sweeter side with a good dose of vanilla. Beautiful tripel-like beer.

Jak na Leffe to nic specjalnego. Delikatnie słodki smak nie robi szału. Złoty kolor i szybko znikająca pianka.

330 ml bottle at a hotel room in Skara. Clear golden with white head. Aroma is rich; sweet, malty, alcohol and yeast. Taste is similar with yeast and sweet alcoholic malt sugars dominating. Not bad and not very good.

33 cl. bottle obtained @ Delhaize. Yay, a Leffe, I apparently have never had before. Clear sparkling dark amber. Sweetish caramel smell, very industrial esters. Taste is total fish guts, I usually find those in certain beers with German yeast but this is new, caramel, sweet, very industrial, bread, white sugar, sweet, fish guts, fizzy. Ugh, I’m really not liking this.

Nice caramel coloring and a decent aroma, but the sweetness is a bit too intense for me. And that’s saying something, given Belgian beers are my favorite and they tend to be on the sweet side. There is a bitter aftertaste here as well that can be a tad unpleasant. Leffe Brun is far superior.

Bottle at Keyaki 2014. Rich plum tart character, pear, pie and honey. A bit too sweet for me but one of the best Leffe I had.
