COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With its amber color, fruity and spicy bouquet, and its creamy foam, Leffe Biere de Noel is a beer full of character. Very expected during the holiday season, it continues the tradition of master brewers who kept their best barley and hops to brew once a year. Leffe Biere de Noel makes your aperitif a moment of intense flavor.

Red-brown colour with large foamy head. Aroma has a hint of smoke and a little fruity sweetness. Flavour has some elements of sugary red-fruits. Quite light and easy to drink but lacking depth of flavour for a beer in this style.

Bottle shared by Robert at the SSSSLT. Pour was amber-ruby colored, small head with weak retention. The aroma was candy sweet darker fruits, some bubblegum type elements maybe too. The flavor followed the aroma, just a nastily sweet beer, although not syrupy thick or anything. Might as well spike a drink box if you want something like this. Mouthfeel was low on carbonation, a little bit of that stickiness. Thanks again Robert, a great SSSSLT! I think we’re back to the SSSLT nomenclature after this one!

Bottle 33cl. Pours a clear ruby colour with a small size head with little carbonation. Smell is very fruity and sweet, can smell grapes and spices, rather pleasant. Taste on the other hand a bit dissappointing, very plain flavour, the smell can be detected slightly but not enough to make it stand out. Nice beer but not really anything special.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2009 We had this @ some dank bar on tap. Big ass 500 cl goblets...sipped on this shit like Henry the 8’th . Aromas of plum ,dusty yeast and some chocolate. A full bodied taste . Quite sweet and malty but too heafty and a bit hollow .. You wonder where this beers guts are .Dark fruits and toasty flavours too . Dark chocolate in there. Just seemed like the usual Leffe Brune -only displayed as a Christmas beer. Or am I just cynical ?

Poured dark brown/amber with an off-white head. Some roasted malts and some hoppy bitterness. Nice beer, but not enough depth.

Bottle, bought at Brygshoppen. Pours clear chestnut brown with a fine, creamy, yellowish head. Lots of fine lacing. Aroma is sweet, lots of caramel, plums en masse. There is a spicy edge, clearly marking this more Christmas-y than other Leffes. Cloves and cinnamon mostly. Fair mouthfeel, just a tad thinish. Flavour is fine, some metal off-notes, but general malty, chewy sweetness. Lots of raisins, plums and some spicy dryness in the finish. Good, but relatively harmless, typical Leffe :o]

Bottle. Pours a dark red, nice beige head, medium size. Nose is sweet malts, vanilaa, slight alcohol and also slight spice. Flavor is raisins and toffee, small bitterness on the finish. Ok, smooth and clean perhaps too much so.

33cl bottle: poured deep ruby with a medium sized, quickly dissipating tan head. Mild caramel, mild dark fruits, a touch of spice and slight vanilla. Flavor is slightly watery with hints of cardamom and dark fruit. Light sweetness. Good.

On tap 25cl, kerstmarkt Gent. Pours caramel clear brown with a beige head. Nose is a tiny bit of spices. Aroma of burnt malts and thats about it. Flavor is ok. Watery texture, low carbonation, short dry finish.
