3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Darker brown coloured beer with a ruby red touch. Light carbonation and a small white head. Malty, light (ripe) fruity roasted aroma. Full palate. Finish is little malty and fruity but misses some character for being a christmas beer.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
33cl bottle from local shop, standard leffe nose, gentle aftertaste, not complex plate, not bad but there better Christmas beers

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Latest batch from De Bierloods. Attractive deep ruby with a fine pinkish collar. Metallic vegetable nose initially giving way to thumbprint banana and clove, glace cherry, apple strudel, hint of nutty malt, sweet spices ( nutmeg ,cinnamon), even..gasp..noble hops? More research required. Certainly a bit festive and a sniffer, but the mouth disappoints. Slick m/f, cardboard, caramel, way more bitterness than standard ’Leffy’, merging into biscuity wheat and coriander. That industrial Flying Saucer paperiness puts me off. Alive it might interesting, as it is just another Leffe, just another rate...

33cl, from Geers Oostakker, not complex brew, not balanced, yet easy to drink, clear, good head, simpel X-Mas brew, nothing special

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Yesterday on tap @ Trefpunt (Waregem) Thx Vanden Bussche.
Dark brown color, beige head.
Aroma sweet, bit roasted malts. Medium body. Taste sweet, some spices, malts, no hops.
A very regular briown.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft. Pours dark, your standard christmas flavors and spices. Pretty good, and I agree the best of the Leffes.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is clearly the best of the Leffe brand. It pours a dark plumb-red with a diminishing head. Though the basic taste is all malts, the generic sweetness of your everyday Leffe is elevated to greater heights with the addition of spices and Christmas cheer. There are, of course, no hops, but the plumb darkness is a fruity supplement, and the alcohol adds a bit of a bitter edge.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
First rating for 2005!
On tap at Cafe Leffe in Arras, France. Red-brown with a good beige heady. Sweet yeasty aroma. Flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, carmel. Thin and watery. Uninteresting. Not a great beer, but by no means bad.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Smoked aroma. The original yeasty Leffe-flavour. This is not very interesting.

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
[Draught] Brown coloured. Very bad yeasty aroma. Sweet and yeasty flavour. Thin. Very bad. I understand why the Belgians send all of this to France.
