With its amber color, fruity and spicy bouquet, and its creamy foam, Leffe Biere de Noel is a beer full of character. Very expected during the holiday season, it continues the tradition of master brewers who kept their best barley and hops to brew once a year. Leffe Biere de Noel makes your aperitif a moment of intense flavor.

dark red, clear color, small off-white head. smells yeasty, sour, a bit like a wheat beer. light to medium body, tastes of light banana, a bit like a thin wheat beer plus some spices. some sweetness and hops on the finish.

330 ml bottle. Beautiful, clear, copper red body with a big, foamy tan head. Aroma of malt, fruit, Belgium yeast, dry fruit and spices. The taste has this distinct Leffe flavor, sweet malt, brown sugar, dry fruit, warming alcohol, low bitterness but more Christmas spicy in addition. It balanced, smooth and easy to drink, not bad at all, but misses some complexity to among the best Belgium Christmas beers.

Bottle from the Bottle Bank. Appearance - mid brown with a nice head. Nose - treacle, possibly tobacco but definitely a clove thing. Taste - treacle and cloves. Toffee in the background. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a dry agreeable finish. Overall - its good in the world of beer but in the world of Belgian beer, it definitely falls short.

Bottle from Auchan (as part of a 6 pack... slugging through the other 5 is going to be a chore). Fizzy and brown in the glass, nice and clear. Small head. Sweet aroma, like toasted caramel nuts. No hop character to speak of. In the mouth its slick but fizzy. Caramelised sugar, soft brown/demerera... in fact, just various types of sugar. No real depth to the flavour. Not great.

Almost no bubble and no foam. Spicy beer, burnt aftertaste. Not a must but interesting.
