With its amber color, fruity and spicy bouquet, and its creamy foam, Leffe Biere de Noel is a beer full of character. Very expected during the holiday season, it continues the tradition of master brewers who kept their best barley and hops to brew once a year. Leffe Biere de Noel makes your aperitif a moment of intense flavor.

Clear dark copper brown colour; Medium head and off white foam and frothy; Very sticky lacing and lively carbonation; Light aroma of roast malt, sweet floral, plum and nuts; Medium body, with subdued sweet taste of banana, malt, light yeast and grass; Not thick but quite rich mouth feel with malty palate; Alcohol taste is well hidden but shoot up quite fast, after about 7 minutes; No hop bitterness and not much of a finish. Slight dry after taste, very easy to mouth.

Comments: This is like a stripped down version of Leffe Brune with Leffe Blond as the base with very low key smell and taste. Sweetness, bitterness and fragrance are presented in a low-key manner. A pretty different feel from the joyous Blond and Brune, and it’s quite suited for festive occasion, when having one beside the fire place and chat with friends will be perfect.

UPDATED: APR 18, 2015 330ml bottle served in its own chalice. A: Pours a deep amber clear color forming a medium bubbled light beige head. Medium to low retention. A small layer remains in the top forever but only few lacings are left in the glass. S: Sweet and a bit spicy. Notes of cinnamon, caramel, nuts, toffee and dark fruits: plums, mainly. Strong notes of Belgian yeasts: Quite bready and earthy. Caramel and slightly roasted malts and a bit of flowery hops in the end. T: Sweet upfront. Caramel, toffee, caramel malts, dark fruits. Again, notes of plums. Strong notes of Belgian yeasts. Final is slightly bitter. M: Medium body. A bit molasses. Medium carbonation. Bittersweet Belgian style aftertaste which is more sweet than bitter in this one. O: Good drinkability. Easy beer. A bit warming too. Nice winter beer. [ BA Review @ 2/9/2013 ]

Redbrown to brown coloured, dense, off white head. Fruity aroma, also somewhat fruity taste Furthermore it’s a bit watery. Fizzling, with a medium finish. Not that special.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle; pours clear amber with a tan head; aroma is spicy with yeast; taste is sweet yeast, dark fruit, caramel, and spice; spicy light bitter finish; this beer reminded me of their Brune but a little bit more spices but I was hoping for something a little more distinctive; still an okay beer
