2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 DeanF (1489) - Iqaluit, - NOV 19, 2010
This is getting big promotion all across Paris on billboards, so this winter at least it should be widely available in France. Nice dark amber colour with a foamy head. Soft cherry aromas buried in a nut and wood mix that emerges from mostly malt ingredients. Taste is a lot of mahogany and oak with an alcoholic and watery finish. Another miss by Leffe, this is okay but could be much better.

330ml bottle. Sweet berries aromas, some nuts. Pours hazy amber-ruby colour, with vanishing head, leaving some lacework. Medium body and average carbonation. Taste is berries, some spicy and malty. As it warms alcohol gets dominant. Enjoyable.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 kiwianer (950) - Mönchengladbach, GERMANY - MAY 28, 2012

It’s really too long ago since I drank this beer to remember all details. All I know that I drank it eating pizza and the taste was just perfect. However nothing special with this beer.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 16, 2012
33cl brown bottle, poured into my huge ’Judas’ tulip glass. Best before 11 Mar 2012, so this is a young one (reviewed 14 Dec 2010).
Looked impressive, ruby red body with a vast tan coloured head of foaming bubbles on top. The head fell away quickly, but left some lacing on the glass as the beer level sank.
Red berries and Christmas spices filled my nose, along with hints of yeast smells.
The taste followed the aromas, red berries, spices and yeast: add alcohol and some marzipan to liven and sweeten it up.
The marzipan type flavours I got began to take over as the beer warmed and the beer then seemed a little sickly and too sweet towards the end of the tasting, pity.
Overall, OK, but strange the way it changed completely as it warmed in the glass: drink it cold.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 EithCubes (3340) - GERMANY - MAR 29, 2012
Bottle by 18/09/12. Fruity nose, biggest on cherries, I think, but there’s some indeterminate pitted fruit here with mineral-yeast and malt. Red-amber body with a foamy beige-tan head. Semi-sweet body dries out, crisp and attacking with light acid, alcohol seems stronger than the 6.6% claimed. Malt a little simplistic, but touch of smoke with light roast and even good woody noble hops in the back. Medium-full body with swishing yeast to close.

130312: Slightly sweet and creamy Christmas beer you can drink all year round. Lots of flavor, good for the Christmas and Easter table.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MADpalace (118) - Budel, NETHERLANDS - MAR 12, 2012
Caramel red color with creamy collar that disappears fast. A bit musty smell of malt with some pleasant cherry sweetness in the background. Strong bitter ale, not as sweet as to be expected (not a warm and cosey Christmas feeling). Alltogether another disappointing example that ale is really not my style.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Prokroustis (430) - Thessaloniki, GREECE - MAR 9, 2012
Clear dark red body, off white head. Malty aroma with spices, caramel, berries. Enjoyable flavour with a balanced sweetness, containing, berries, honey, caramel, some fruits and spices.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Lubiere (7003) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 4, 2012
A clear brown ale with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, maderized malt with caramel notes, honey. In mouth, a sweet nutty malt with faint herbs, coriander, cloves, light bodied, tired. Bieropholie import.
