Hbuck72 (122), Chickasha, Oklahoma, USA Apr 26, 2009 Pours a nice colden color. Aroma is of grains and fruit. Nice fluffy white head. Mouthfeel is smooth with a clean finish. Taste is of light malts, and fruit. Nice beer, well balanced. daleharshman (181), San Diego, California, USA Apr 23, 2009 11.2 oz bottle from BevMo. Wow, didn’t realize this is from InBev. I have pretty good memories of this beer as it was one of the few decent beers available when I was on holiday in Costa Rica. Took me a few days to find it after having to drink some pale lagers for a while. Pours a yellowish orange with a finger and a half of white head. Bright aroma of fruit and yeast. But taste is not quite as good. Initial sweet maltiness gives way to a metallic bitterness. Some spice in the finish. azlondon (655), Fribourg, Switzerland Apr 22, 2009 Appearance: Golden orange. Good amount of white head.
Aroma: Light fruit. Some yeast and alcohol. Spices?
Taste: Fruits and spices, slight bitterness.
Info: 330ml bottle, 22/4-2009 illidurit (851), Santa Cruz, California, USA Apr 21, 2009 Clear gold color with a tinge of bright orange. Gorgeous fluffy off-white head leaves great lacing. Aroma is pretty one-dimensional. Prominent clove with a yeasty light ester note. Flavor is bananas and a touch of very sweet orange, with the aforementioned clove coming through as well. There’s also a vague earthy note in the very end of the finish. Light, easy drinking, and inoffensive. Very simple but it does the job. 1010 (206), Marysville, Ohio, USA Apr 19, 2009 Pours a nice transparent golden hue with a white head. Taste of spice and bananas. Solid Bengian ale.
bottle kiwibt (51), , New Zealand Apr 18, 2009 Bottle bb 30/1/10
Pours clear, golden,good head.
Aroma of slight banana, other slight esters, fusal alcohols, bready and leffe house character ?
Taste more sweet than bitter, with esters and high alcohols, warming not much hop.
Overall ok, nice balance between esters and alcohol. trufflepig (12), , New Jersey, USA Apr 13, 2009 Aroma is a little fruity, some hint of spice. Deep golden color - crystal clear. Pop of the bottle was slight. Decent carbonation and pour. Nose has a hint of spice. Head was moderate at about 1/2 inch. Let sit a little to about 46 degrees F. Mouth was a bit sweet, yet warming. The abbey yeast aftertaste was not overpowering but is more pronounced as the beer warms. A touch phenolic. No pronounced hops as the spices over take it as does the abbey yeast taste.
