AsaNewt (113), blackpool, Lancashire, England Oct 3, 2008 clear straw yellow, nice fluffy head nose is yeasty with a biy pf pineapple. flavour is spiced fruit. wonderfully refreshing EFC1878 (291), Manchester, Greater Manchester, England Oct 1, 2008 Sweet and sickly with a nasty after taste of cloves. Really, I don’t know why this is so highly regarded. Each to his/her own, I suppose, but whether on draught or bottle it’s always had that horrible, back-of-the-throat, overpowering, clove nastiness. How can the people who produce this also produce the wonderful Brune? Still, it’ll never get minimum marks from me while Carlsberg’s being brewed... Jsawyer (282), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 30, 2008 Hazy gold body with moderate head. Spicy nose including cinnamon, cloves, banana, and slight citrus. Delivers strong abbaye taste - clove, dried fruit esp. apricot and banana, yeast, cinnamon, and lightly citrus. Sweet slightly dry finish. JonnyDr (132), , South Yorkshire, England Sep 29, 2008 Updated: Oct 4, 2008Tasty abbey with a nice tall creamy head. Banana start leads to malty, fruity and alchoolic middle and firm fruity end. Good standard abbey. Steely (149), , Sweden Sep 28, 2008 Rich golden color with light white head. Sweet aroma with spices, yeast and dried fruit. Full bodied with a sweet flavor of light citrus and dried apricot. hellbilly (1492), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA Sep 27, 2008 pours a clear golden color from the tap at papago. it’s got a white head which fades to a ring/film and remains there. very yeasty aroma with notes of sweet pale malt, flowers, citrus and grass. the palate is a touch too sweet but it does have enough interesting characteristics to make up for that... lots of yeast, fruit (esp. banana), orange, herbal/grassy dryness and sweet spices on the finish which remind me of cinnamon rice pudding. mellow yeast filled aftertaste. medium body is a bit coating on the tongue but the prickly carbonation and spiciness clean that up... this would be killer without all the sugar! Slipstream (734), USA Sep 25, 2008 Pours medium gold with a nice head. The summer garden floral aroma has a hint of coriander in it. Taste: spunky hops and Belgian yeast, pretty dry, with touches of grapes and nutmeg. This is full-flavored, but still balanced and subtle - a very nice Belgian blonde indeed - 4 points! peuasa (34), Salvador, Brazil Sep 14, 2008 Bottle 330ml. Golden color with a huge white head. Nice aroma of malt. Sweet taste.
