Beerman6686 (1263), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 12, 2008 POured a nice deep golden color with a big white head. Aroma was of fruits, ester, spices, and maltiness. Flavor was a bit less, mainly sweet malts, a bit fruity but thin. WickerBrew (312), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 11, 2008 I am not at all a fan of this. Its basically a light sweet beer to me. Way too sugary. Yeah its easy to drink, but I want a little more. Too expensive also, redeeming grace is that 6.6% is pretty solid. brianprentiss (473), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 10, 2008 Decent beer with surprisingly full mouthfeel. Rather alcoholy with hints of grassy bananas.
From bottle, Whole Foods Mountain View. BeerEssential (96), Massachusetts, USA Jul 8, 2008 Pours an almost clear amber that shines golden when struck by light. Starts off with a generous head, but it fizzles away and left little lacing. Scent was along the lines of many other Belgian brews - slightly floral, sweet, fruity and malty. Taste is somewhat sweet (gets sweeter and rum-ier as it warms up) with an effervescent bite. Bought this at the local grocery store, where the only other Belgian beer was Hoegaarden. SeanMacGC (233), Dublin, Ireland Jul 6, 2008 Updated: Jul 13, 2008Attractive blonde beer, with appealing golden appearance and reasonably durable head. Soft yeast, hops and on the palate and nose, with sweet undercurrents. mattmc1973 (300), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA Jul 6, 2008 On draught at ’Rocks’ in Chicago. Color was amber, not as blond as I thought it would be. Aroma of malt, sweet fruit, hops, and yeast. Flavor of sweet malt and mild hops, with some floral accents. Medium mouthfeel. Not amazing, but pretty good. REDBOSOX (70), Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts, USA Jul 5, 2008 If you’ve never had a true Belgian beer before, Leffe blond is a good one as a starter. It’s a medium golden color and very flavorful. I prefer other Leffe beers over this one myself, but that does not mean that this isn’t a good beer. I have yet to have a bad Leffe beer. I generally prefer darker beers, but this one’s certainly one I buy often.
