3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 porterhouse (1479) - Alna, Maine, USA - OCT 16, 2010
(Draft @ "Belgium"/Epcot/WDW/Orlando, FL) Pours lightly cloudy blonde with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, yeasty and peppery. Mouthfeel smooth with light, fine-bubble carbonation. Fine, sturdy rings of lacing. Flavor has all the elements of the aroma plus a medium-bitter bite and a mild peppery finish. Damn tasty on a warm Florida afternoon. Undoubtedly has a bit more of a mass-produced feel than many Belgians but in this case I’m not complaining.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JPMarat (68) - GREECE - OCT 14, 2010
As with all Leffes, pours out a very nice intense aroma. The taste is quite sweet but only lightly sour. The foam is not thick and overall,it’s a great Belgian ale, which when you drink it,makes you feel quite full.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 tommann (1223) - Dudley, West Midlands, ENGLAND - OCT 10, 2010
750ml bottle. Pours clear golden with a large head. Aroma is dull, nutty yeast. Nutty start. Yeasty finish with some lemon. Milk like aftertaste.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 Koyo (239) - SWEDEN - OCT 8, 2010
Tried on bottle. Aroma is interesting and rich. Pours a nice light colour. Taste is very spicy, hints of cinnamon and other spices that to me do not go very well together in a beer.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Croux (24) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - OCT 6, 2010
Bottle. I really didn’t enjoy this beer, it was too yeasty-tasting and had little, to no flavor. It tasted doughy and plain, but maybe i just couldn’t get past the wheaty flavor.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 KajII (340) - Macon, North Carolina, USA - OCT 4, 2010
Bottle. Poured a clear dark yellow with a large white rocky head that was mostly diminishing and had poor lacing. The aroma of straw malts, a grassy hop and a moldy yeast. It tasted bitter-sour at first and progressed into a yeasty full bodied flavor slighty hinted with honey. Mouthfeel was light in body and watery in texture. Overall a nice yeasty belgian brew.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Countbeer (1686) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - OCT 4, 2010
UPDATED: DEC 18, 2011 Bottle:
White foamy head turns quick into white lacing.
Clear dark orange color.
Smell fruit, sweets, yeast and malts.
Taste is fresh and fruity: fruits, sugars, malts, hops, bitter and bit sweet and grainy.
Grassy, bitter and little sweet aftertaste. Low carbo and less yeast, well balanced.
Have tasted others of these that were tasting a bit too sweet/fake sweet/glue ish and not too well balanced. I gave this beer a 3.8 for the one I tasted and rated but in overall it will get a 3.6... Guess since it didn’t taste that bad in the far past and had some good memories of this beer I gave it just 0.2 lower than this beer rated.
