| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 21, 2008 Bottle. Poured out with a nice clear, golden color with good head. Had a banana spice aroma. Based on the smell, I was expecting a better tasting beer. It wasn’t terrible, just not what I was expecting from the aroma. Overall, I could drink this beer, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it. FishManLA (290), Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 20, 2008 I first tried this beer in Brussels Belgium and then came back to the states and couldn’t find it. About 8 months later a small independant supermarket near me (Acquistipaces) started stocking it in bottles and a short time later a local pub (Columbia Street Tap Room) started carrying it on draft. It has one of the prettiest blonde colors I’ve ever seen. Medium yellow with the slightest hint of red. Almost a "strawberry blonde" color. On first sip, the taste is downright startling. The first sip made me blink. Not in a negative way, but with surprise. Its got a powerfull buttered-toast-with-some-exotic-fruit-jelly-on-it sort of taste that I wasn’t expecting. But... a few sips later and I’m saying, "Damn! It’s good though!" The mouth feel is thick and creamy. The aftertaste is carmel/chocolate, almost like when you’ve recently finished a candy bar. A really, really uniqe tasting brew, and very good!
