BrewmeisterEd (59), USA Dec 4, 2007 Pleasantly surprised - billed as an ale - but upon pouring, smells reminiscent of good wheat brews (I guess that’s the ’Belgian’ aspect for you) - I dinged the ’appearance’ because the head looked a little too sterile (color of detergent, like your major American players) - which made for an even more surprising satisfaction with the taste - full bodied, fizzy, but not excessively - sweet, but not overpowering, after-taste lingered quite a while - definitely not powered by adjuncts - I drank 12 oz bottle, but could easily see parking myself on a bar stool and ordering out of the tap all day long... yesyouam (587), Fairport, New York, USA Dec 1, 2007 Leffe Blond is a crystal clear golden ale with a white head that backs off to a thin, seething foam that grows back after each sip. Lacing and retention are outstanding. The aroma is bright and fruity: pear, peach, cherry and lemon zest. The malt is biscuity. There are spices like peppercorns and fennel that linger in the nose. Soft, fluffy and medium bodied, it leaves the tongue a bit silty. The yeast is fruity enough to be fruit salad. It’s a little sweet, a little herbal, moderately hopped and heftily boozed. There is a clap of leather and wet soil somewhere in there. It’s earthy and complex. After looking at the ABV, I think this may be a really good dessert beer. This is not a session ale-- it’s more like a birthday cake in a bottle. MaliMisho (208), East Meadow, New York, USA Nov 30, 2007 This beer really did it for me, it had a beautiful golden body with fluffy white head. It had a strong citrus flavor with a nice finish. Pwn3d (1036), Manhattan, New York, USA Nov 27, 2007 Updated: Nov 28, 2007This impressed me, very nice belgian ale. malty with characteristics of apricot and/or banana in the mouth. Good. jredmond (1015), New Jersey, USA Nov 27, 2007 bottle. This was a nice beer. Malt in aroma, taste hides the 6.6% abv surprisingly well. EKGoldings (447), Radford, Virginia, USA Nov 27, 2007 I was surprised at the abv, I was expecting less based on the taste. Nice Belgian style flavors in a beer that is both reasonably priced and easy drinking. I’m not overly fond of Belgians, but I have friends who absolutely love this stuff. RCL (1443), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA Nov 21, 2007 Poured from a can: Nice apricot aroma rises from the glass. Rich yeasty flavor that still keeps a nice lightness. Pleasant drinking. Odeed (1666), Bakersfield, California, USA Nov 19, 2007 golden brown with a white head.malty aroma and flavor.very sweet.id like to say more but....
