Archibaldo de la Cruz (394), Finland Jul 12, 2009 0,75l bottle. Golden colour with a medium white head. Fruity and malty aroma. Malty flavour with some sweetness, citrus and apples, slightly bitter. Easy to drink and very tasty. Good beer. Jonte (801), Gothenburg, Sweden Jul 12, 2009 Bottle. Clear golden colour (filtered?) with a white head. Sweet, a bit spicy, banana, bubbelgum, some herbal hops, a bit of alcohol. NJJereme (261), Saint Petersburg, Florida, USA Jul 11, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark gold color with a nice white head. Hints of, dare I say, grape to the nose. Has the sweet characteristics of tripel as opposed to dubbel. A little heavily carbonated, but still goes down okay. A little bitter on the finish. Medium bodied. HonkeyBra (1258), Lemont, Illinois, USA Jul 7, 2009 Golden pour with frothy white head. Aroma of cereal, yeast, some fruit. Flavor is sweet, yeasty, fruity, a bit grainy. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Finish is sweet. Decent, but nothing I’d be excited about. mithe (67), Czech Republic Jul 7, 2009 (Bottle 0,33l)
Sparkling golden color. Very nice all time white head. Very sweet aroma. Very sweet and alcohol taste. Full creamy body with astringent finish. Very good beer. jrallen34 (123), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 2, 2009 Drank from can and bottle in Brussels.
This is decent widely available beer, but with some many other options its an average Belgian at best. mrhoppy (208), Santa Clara, California, USA Jul 1, 2009 Remember when you were a kid in grade school and they had paste and you ate it. Everyone did. Remember that flavor. That is the flavor that Belgium yeast imparts to beer. I liked to eat that paste. Even though I have compared this beer to paste I will still give it a 5 rating. This beer is phenomenal. It’s like a cross between a heavyweight fighter and a ballet dancer. Strong in color and body yet so refined and delicate. Ask yourself what’s wrong with this beer and the answer you’ll come up with is. Nothing!! k2 (146), USA Jul 1, 2009 Great Belgian beer for those that are not familiar with the style. The beer has a dark golden color and has a typical sweet finish of this style. Great body that is perfectly hopped.
